I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Luxury in City -11- on Gdańska Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the name alone. But you know what? This 4-star spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location is pretty solid if you’re trying to get a feel for Łódź without being stuck right in the tourist crush – Gdańska runs north-south through the city, so you’re well-connected but not dealing with the constant buzz of Piotrkowska Street (though honestly, you’ll want to hit Piotrkowska for dinner anyway).

What really got me was how the place manages to feel both polished and lived-in at the same time. The lobby has this warm, understated vibe – not trying too hard to impress but clearly thought-out. I mean, the 7.5 rating makes sense when you experience it firsthand. The rooms are genuinely comfortable, with those little touches that show someone actually stayed in one before deciding what guests need. Good blackout curtains (essential if you’re jet-lagged), proper reading lights, and – this might sound weird but hear me out – the bathroom lighting actually works for getting ready in the morning. You’d be amazed how many places get that wrong.

The neighborhood itself is pretty authentic Łódź, which I loved. You’re walking distance from some genuine local cafes and that whole post-industrial character the city’s known for, but without feeling like you’re staying in a museum district. Parking was straightforward when I visited (always a relief in European city centers), and the staff seemed to actually know the area well – not just the obvious tourist spots but where to grab decent pierogi at 10 PM or which tram line gets you to Manufaktura fastest. I stayed during shoulder season, so I can’t speak to how crazy it gets during peak times, but the whole area felt pleasantly residential in the evenings. Sometimes you could hear a bit of street noise – it’s a city, after all – but nothing that kept me up. Actually, I found it kind of nice falling asleep to the distant sounds of Łódź doing its thing outside.

  Close to a park and city centre, we recommend it for short stays.
  With a balcony.
  Upto 8 people fit in, even though the flat is really crowded then.
  
  What could be improved: Only 1 pot and 1 sratched unusable frying pan. No grater, wooden spoon… it is difficult to cook here.
  The beds in the bedroom are cranky, so we were up quite often during the night.
  The flat is in the block of flats intended for permanent living, so if you mind this airbnb-like businesses, this flat is not for you.
  The staff has given us info were to park outside but did not know the exact price. It was 50 pln/day. I would expect they would know, as some guests may want to find parking with a watchmen for a similar charge or in the street parkong free of charge.

  Bardzo dobre wyposażenie mieszkania na krótki pobyt, bo jest pralka, zmywarka, piekarnik. Pachnąca posciel. Blisko sklepy, restauracje.
  
  What could be improved: Bardzo miękki materac w sypialni, w który sie wręcz wpada. Widać, że ktoś tam sprząta bardzo powierzchownie, ponieważ wszystko pomazane, a nie umyte (okna, piekarnik, itp.). Jednak najbardziej nam przeszkadzał brud pod prysznicem. Mieszkanie dość nowe, ale już znacznie zniszczone. Popuchnięte ramy drzwi, szafki w kuchni albo nie dało się otworzyć, albo zamknąć, prowizoryczne karnisze.

  Bardzo dobra lokalizacja, blisko centrum handlowego, marketów, restauracji szybkiej obsługi, stacji paliw oraz ulicy Piotrkowskiej.
  Przestronne mieszkanie, wystarczająco miejsca dla 8 osób, przygotowane pościele i ręczniki,dobrze wyposażone w pralkę, zmywarkę i środki higieniczne.
  
  What could be improved: Zadbać o czystość pod kanapami i w szafkach kuchennych, w których były tłuste plamy.
  Zwiększyć wyposażenie kuchni – większą ilość sztućców, misek i garnków.

  What could be improved: Cia labiau butu informacija buto seimininkui: kazkas negerai su hidroizoliacija ar vandens nuvedimu. Po naudojimosi dusu, uz sienos koridoriuje kaupiasi vanduo.

  Świetna lokalizacja. Mieszkanie przestronne, ciche. Fajnie że jest zmywarka, bo przy rodzinie to nawet śniadanie generuje dużo zmywania. Normalna lodówka. Świetna baza wypadowa dla pięcioosobowej rodziny nawet na kilkudniowy pobyt.
  
  What could be improved: Brak mikrofali, najtańsze rzeczy z Ikea, choć trzeba uczciwie przyznać że spełniają swoją rolę.
