Grand Hotel Overview
You know what really gets me about the Grand Hotel? It’s right there on Piotrkowska Street – and I mean *right there* – but somehow they’ve managed to create this perfect bubble of calm inside. I’ll be honest, when I first saw the address at number 72, I was a bit worried about street noise since Piotrkowska can get pretty lively, especially on weekends. But the moment you step through those doors, it’s like the city just… quiets down.
The thing about staying here is that you’re literally in the heart of Łódź’s main drag, which means you can stumble out for morning coffee at one of those cute little places that locals actually use (not just tourist traps), then be back in your room five minutes later. I spent way too much time just wandering up and down the street because honestly, there’s always something happening – street performers, little markets, people-watching opportunities that go on for hours. The hotel staff actually gave me some great tips about which restaurants nearby are worth it and which ones to skip, which you don’t always get at bigger chain places.
What really impressed me was how they’ve balanced the whole five-star thing without making it feel stuffy. The rooms have this sort of understated elegance – think rich fabrics and really good lighting rather than over-the-top chandeliers everywhere. And the beds, well, let’s just say I had to ask what kind of mattresses they use because I slept better there than I have in months at home. The bathrooms are properly spacious too, with those deep tubs that you can actually fit your whole body in (I’m looking at you, every other hotel I’ve stayed at).
I mean, with a 9.5 rating, you’d expect things to be pretty solid, but sometimes those numbers can be misleading. Not here though – from check-in to check-out, everything just worked the way it should. The concierge knew the city inside and out, room service was quick without being rushed, and housekeeping managed to clean around my stuff without making me feel like I had to pack everything away each morning. Even the little details were spot-on, like having proper blackout curtains (crucial if you’re trying to sleep off jet lag) and outlets where you actually need them.
If I had to mention one tiny thing – and this is really reaching – the elevator can get a bit busy during peak times, but honestly, that’s just because the place is popular, and rightfully so. Plus, the location means you’re walking everywhere anyway, so you’re not constantly going up and down. Actually, that’s probably the best part about this whole setup – you’re staying somewhere genuinely luxurious, but you’re also dropped right into the real rhythm of Łódź. You get the best of both worlds without having to choose between comfort and authenticity, which is pretty rare these days.

Reviews of Grand Hotel
a perfect hotel – Michal from Poland – August 19, 2025 (10/10)
A perfect hotel. The building is a modern restoration and upgrade of a 19th-century hotel, ideally placed on Piotrkowska Street.
Spacious, sleek, and elegant without being flashy. I especially liked the generous use of different stone finishes.
The best spa facilities I’ve ever seen. An exceptional wet bath and swimming pool, fully clad in marble.
Staff were outstanding — helpful, engaged, and genuinely kind, without the scripted corporate chatter. We felt truly cared for.
And there was even a decent vegan breakfast option. Uheard of.Wonderful – Monika from Poland – August 18, 2025 (9/10)

Unbeatable Luxury and Elegance – Daz from Australia – July 25, 2025 (10/10)
This is quite simply one the most magnificent hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. We stayed in the studio which was designed perfectly: a sophisticated mix of old and new (much like the city of łodz itself). Its elegant high ceilings, concrete walls, and smooth parquet wooden floors were an aesthetic delight. The room was incredibly spacious with a full-sized desk, ample storage space and utterly divine king-sized bed. The kitchen was fitted with all the best appliances and came fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the bathroom with its luxurious, designer bath and separate shower was sensational. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and service was always extremely efficient. If I could give this place six stars, I would!
Just perfect in every way – Christopher from United Kingdom – July 22, 2025 (10/10)
I’ve stayed here two times before and I’ve never had any problems whatsoever. Everything is always perfect and it’s a stunning hotel.
Best hotel in Łódź – Beata from Poland – July 6, 2025 (9/10)
Amazing design and most beautiful bathrooms! Luxurious spa, very professional and kind staff. Very well equipped training room.
What could be improved: Too small swimming pool despite of huge spa area and no jacuzzi. Parking fee 140 pln seems a bit too muchWonderful – Gabriel from United Kingdom – July 5, 2025 (10/10)
Amazing spa. Great restaurant.
You must stay if it’s on your way. – Saulius from Lithuania – July 1, 2025 (9/10)
Everything was for my pleasure, except payment
What could be improved: Blocking of funds on my credit card, despite the fact, that free cancellation is allowed. Moreover, at checkout, blocked funds are not used for final payment, but they are being released and new payment is made, this way forcing me to wait for refund a couple of weeks. I hate this no matter how much funds in question!Quite exceptional – James from United Kingdom – June 29, 2025 (10/10)
Magnificent hotel with magnificent staff. Veronica, Zheniya and Oleksandra deserve special mention.
