Honestly, when I first pulled up to GoldAparts Gdańska, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the building sits on this busy stretch of Gdańska street, and you know how it is with apartment-style hotels, they can be hit or miss. But once I got inside, I was actually pleasantly surprised by how well they’ve set things up here in Łódź’s Bałuty district.

The thing about this place is that it really feels like you’re staying in someone’s well-appointed apartment rather than a sterile hotel room. I mean, you’ve got proper kitchen facilities (not just a sad little coffee maker), decent-sized living areas, and – this caught me off guard – the soundproofing is way better than you’d think given that Gdańska can get pretty traffic-heavy during rush hour. The staff at check-in were refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly polished hotel speak, just genuine folks who actually knew the neighborhood. They pointed me toward this little bakery about two blocks down that honestly makes some of the best sernik I’ve had outside Warsaw.

What really works here is the location, though not in the typical tourist sense. You’re positioned perfectly between the city center and the more residential areas where actual Łódź life happens. The tram connections are solid – I could get to Manufaktura in about fifteen minutes, but I also found myself just wandering the nearby streets where you’ll stumble across these amazing murals and cafes that don’t show up in guidebooks. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Polish cities will appreciate. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury by any stretch, and the furnishings have that slightly worn-in feel of a place that’s been lived in, but everything works properly and the beds are actually comfortable. I stayed during what seemed like a quieter period in late autumn, so I can’t speak to summer crowds, but the whole vibe felt relaxed and unpretentious. If you’re looking for marble lobbies and concierge services, this isn’t your spot – but if you want a genuine base for exploring Łódź without paying city center prices, and you appreciate having space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days, GoldAparts delivers on that promise pretty well.

  What could be improved: Było trochę zimno i niestety mimo informacji o 2 osobach pościel była przygotowana tylko na jedną. Najbardziej zdziwiło mnie, że zostałam poproszona o zdjęcie dowodu w celu weryfikacji nazwiska (było zaznaczone, że bez żadnych innych danych tylko nazwisko). Ale mimo wszystko w dzisiejszych czasach gdzie jest tyle oszustw internetowych to przydała by się jakaś i informacja z góry, że taka weryfikacja będzie potrzebna. Dostałam wiadomość ok godz 12, w dniu przyjazdu plus jeszcze 2 dodatkowe informacje, że akurat w tym dniu telefoniczna obsługa klienta nie jest dostępna, co dodatkowo sugerowało, że to jest jakiś scam. (bez weryfikacji nie dostałabym kodu do mieszkania i nie miałabym gdzie spać mimo). Ogólnie bardzo nie miłe doświadczenie, szczególnie, że jakiś czas temu wynajmowała inny pokój od tych właścicieli i nie była potrzebna żadna weryfikacja

  I had a very pleasant stay. Shame there is no microwave, a bottle of water would be nice, and no shampoo/shower gel and the room is located facing a busy street with trams and cars, so it might be disturbing for someone if you prefer quiet location. Very close to the park, big balcony. Nice place I can recommend, I rate 7/10 because there is always a room for improvement.

  What could be improved: Bathrooom wasn't clean up to hotel standart(gruby buth tub and soap stains on tails around bath), toilet seat moving around – not fixed propely to the base, burnt and not working hair drier, uncomfortable bed due to thin matters, tired(stained, over used) old pillows and duvet including spares, no chopping board, bent, crinkled kitchen knifes. Wi-fi did not work on last night of our stay.
