You know what caught me off guard about Apartament Matejki? The building itself is this gorgeous pre-war structure that somehow survived everything Łódź has been through, and when you walk up to apartment 280, you’re stepping into something that actually feels like a local’s place rather than some sterile hotel room. I mean, the location on Jana Matejki street puts you right in the heart of Śródmieście, which honestly is exactly where you want to be if you’re trying to get a real feel for the city.

The apartment has this lived-in authenticity that’s hard to fake – the hardwood floors creak just a little when you walk around (in a charming way, not annoying), and the windows are these tall, old-fashioned ones that let in incredible light during the day. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so central. You’d think with Piotrkowska Street just a few minutes’ walk away you’d hear all the nightlife, but the courtyard-facing rooms are surprisingly peaceful. The kitchen is actually functional too, which is rare – I’m talking real cookware, not those sad hotel attempts at kitchenettes. There’s a proper grocery store about two blocks down if you want to grab some of those amazing Polish pastries for breakfast.

Here’s the thing about staying here though – you’re not getting fancy hotel services, but you are getting something better: you’re living like someone who actually knows Łódź. The trams stop right nearby (the number 10 and 14 lines are your friends), and honestly, walking to most of the interesting spots is totally doable. I found myself wandering over to the Manufaktura complex pretty regularly, and the whole Księży Młyn area with its red-brick industrial architecture is close enough for an evening stroll. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward – no weird keycard systems that never work, just practical solutions that make sense. With a 9.2 rating, it’s clear other people have figured out what makes this place special too. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which in a city like Łódź – a place that’s all about authentic character over polished surfaces – feels absolutely perfect.

  Замечательный апартамент с подземной парковкой и лифтом. Закрытая территория, быстрое заселение (нам выслали четкие инструкции с кодами и все получилось отлично).
  В номере чисто и светло, большие окна, балкон со столиком и тремя креслами.
  Небольшая кухня полностью укомплектована как в описании. Есть холодильник, плита и микроволновка. Посуды достаточно, вся она чистая.
  Кровати удобные, постельное белье и полотенце чистые и мягкие. Большой раскладывающийся диван.
  Тихий спокойный район. Это прекрасное место для отдыха после долгой дороги, где можно ни о чем не беспокоиться

  Bardzo fajne mieszkanie z wszystkimi udogodnieniami. Jest duży balkon z krzesłami i stolikiem. W drugim pokoju jest rozkładana kanapa, gdyby łóżko było dla kogoś za wąskie. Spokojna okolica.

  Obiekt zadbany. Dobrze wyposażony we wszystkie potrzebne sprzety jak i produkty (kawa, herbata,cukier, przyprawy,mydlo…). Można poczuć się jak w domu. Cisza i spokój na zamknietym osiedlu.
