You know what struck me first about White Centre? The name’s a bit misleading – there’s actually nothing stark or sterile about this place. Walking up to the building on Rewolucji 1905 roku (and yes, I practiced saying that street name a few times before my trip), I was expecting something pretty basic from a 3-star spot. Instead, I found this surprisingly charming little hotel that honestly punches way above its weight class.

The location is actually perfect if you want to experience real Łódź rather than just the touristy bits. You’re right in Śródmieście, which means you can walk to Piotrkowska Street – that’s the main pedestrian strip where all the action happens – in maybe ten minutes. But here’s the thing: you’re far enough off the main drag that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. I mean, I’m usually a light sleeper, but I slept like a baby here. The staff seem to really know their stuff too, and I noticed they were quick to help with directions to places that aren’t in your typical guidebook. One guy at the front desk told me about this incredible pierogi place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really gets me about this hotel is the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The Wi-Fi works everywhere (I tested it – occupational hazard of working remotely), the shower pressure is fantastic, and they’ve got this cozy common area where you can actually spread out with your laptop if you need to get some work done. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out – like, someone clearly considered where you’d want to put your suitcase and charge your phone. Honestly, I’ve stayed at plenty of 4-star places that didn’t think through the basics this well. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there for a day or two. It’s not trying to be flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just… works. And in a city like Łódź, where you’re probably spending most of your time exploring the incredible street art scene or checking out the converted factory spaces, you want a place that feels like a comfortable home base rather than somewhere you need to tiptoe around. Plus, if you’re planning to do day trips to Warsaw (it’s only about 90 minutes by train), this is a much better value than staying in the capital and gives you a completely different perspective on Polish culture.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Lodz at least two months ahead for major events like Camerimage Festival, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near cultural attractions.

  doskonale położenie blisko Piotrkowskiej. Obok mieszkania także przystanek autobusowy, a niedaleko tramwajowy. Mieszkanie urządzone nowocześnie, jest Wi-fi, TV, pralka, lodówka.
