The location is actually pretty clever if you know Łódź at all. Namiotowa is in this quiet residential pocket that feels miles away from the tourist chaos, but you’re still close enough to walk to the main attractions without breaking a sweat. The building itself has that understated Polish charm – not flashy, just solid and welcoming in a way that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately. What really struck me was how the staff seemed to anticipate things before you even asked. Need directions to Manufaktura? They’ve got a hand-drawn map ready. Wondering about the best pierogi in the neighborhood? They’ll send you to this tiny place three blocks over that doesn’t even have a proper sign but serves the most incredible ruskie you’ll ever taste.

The rooms are where Villa na Zdrowiu really shines though – everything feels thoughtfully chosen rather than just purchased in bulk from some hotel supply catalog. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and there’s this attention to small details that you don’t usually see at this price point. Like, they’ve got these thick curtains that actually block out the morning light, and the shower pressure is surprisingly excellent for an older building. I also appreciated that it stays quiet at night – Namiotowa doesn’t get much through traffic, so you’re not dealing with cars rumbling past your window at 2 AM. The breakfast spread was simple but everything tasted fresh, and they had real local honey, not those little plastic packets you get most places. Look, it’s not luxury – you won’t find a spa or room service – but sometimes what you want is just a really well-run place where everything works as it should. The kind of spot where you feel like you’re staying with friends who happen to be excellent hosts, rather than just another transaction at a corporate chain. If you’re the type of traveler who values genuine hospitality over Instagram-worthy amenities, Villa na Zdrowiu gets it right in all the ways that actually matter.

Hotel in Lodz booking should be done early, especially during film festival season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cinematography events.

  The property was lovely and well kept, close to family we were visiting. Spacious rooms and great kitchen diner. Lovely garden. Close to shops and a cab drive or bus to city centre.
