Vienna House by Wyndham Andel’s Lodz Overview
Honestly, when I first walked into Vienna House by Wyndham Andel’s Lodz, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I mean, Łódź isn’t exactly on everyone’s Poland must-see list, right? But this place completely changed my perspective on both the hotel and the city itself. Located on Ogrodowa Street in the Baluty district, it’s this striking modern building that somehow feels both industrial-chic and genuinely welcoming at the same time.
What really got me was how they’ve embraced the whole textile heritage thing that Łódź is famous for – you know, this used to be Poland’s Manchester back in the day. The design elements throughout the hotel actually reference that history without being heavy-handed about it, which I appreciated. The rooms are spacious (thank god, because European hotel rooms can be tiny), and the beds are properly comfortable – not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get in business hotels. I stayed on the seventh floor and had this great view over the city that really showed me how much Łódź has transformed in recent years. The area around Ogrodowa has become quite the cultural hub, with galleries and cafes popping up everywhere.
The staff here genuinely seem to know their stuff about the city, which made a huge difference. When I asked about getting to Piotrkowska Street – that’s the main pedestrian drag where all the action is – they didn’t just point me toward a taxi. Instead, they explained the tram system (which is actually pretty efficient once you figure it out) and mentioned a few spots I should check out that weren’t in my guidebook. The breakfast was solid too, with local touches alongside the usual international spread. I particularly remember this amazing selection of Polish breads and pastries that you don’t typically see in chain hotels. The dining area gets pretty busy around 8:30 AM with business travelers, so if you’re not an early riser, aim for after 9:30 when things calm down. Parking was straightforward – they have their own garage, which is honestly a relief because street parking in that part of town can be a bit of a nightmare, especially during the week. The whole experience felt polished but not sterile, if that makes sense. You can tell they’re aiming for that 4-star sweet spot where everything works well without being stuffy about it, and with a 9.1 rating, they’re clearly hitting the mark for most people.

What could be improved: Overall a pleasant stay, but the only downside was that I couldn’t connect my MacBook or iPhone to the fast Wi-Fi.

What could be improved: Every was greatOne-of-a-kind hotel! – Marilin from Estonia – August 5, 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful interior design, spacious superior rooms (27 m²) with large, extra-long beds, and friendly, efficient front desk service. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and a cool swimming pool overlooking Manufaktura. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone!
What could be improved: Just a pity that guests under 18 aren’t allowed to use the swimming pool in the evenings. After a long car ride, our 14- and 15-year-old boys were really looking forward to a swim, but were disappointed when they weren’t allowed in. (We didn’t know this beforehand.)
PS: Keep in mind that the sauna is not available in the mornings.
Also, the bathroom/toilet setup is a bit odd — the toilet cubicle has a glass door and wall.Best gym and pool ever – Dagmara from Canada – August 4, 2025 (9/10)
Best gym facilities and pool ever. Gym is on top floor, spacious, well equipped and flooded with daylight. Great city views. Would be even better if they had drinking water there, had to bring it from the room.
What could be improved: To add charges to the room (food, drink) you have to open an account at check in. Would be better if they informed about that at the time. Would have saved the hassle of going back to reception to open. The perfect place to stay when in Łódź, whether for business or family trips. – Rafał from Poland – August 4, 2025 (10/10)
Very rich and tasty breakfast buffet.
What could be improved: I can not recall anything that i did not like.
