Urban Nest, przytulne studio w centrum Overview

I stumbled across Urban Nest, przytulne studio w centrum during one of those frantic last-minute booking sessions, and honestly? Best accidental find I’ve made in Łódź. The place sits right on Nawrot street – you know, that stretch where the city actually feels alive – and there’s something immediately welcoming about walking up to the building. It’s not trying too hard to impress, which I actually appreciated after staying in some overly polished places that feel like sterile showrooms.

The studio itself lives up to that “przytulne” (cozy) promise in the name, though I mean that in the best possible way. It’s compact but thoughtfully laid out, with those high ceilings you find in older Łódź buildings that somehow make everything feel more spacious than the square footage suggests. The owner clearly put thought into the details – proper blackout curtains (thank god, because those summer nights stay bright forever), a little kitchenette that’s actually functional, not just decorative, and surprisingly good water pressure in the shower. You’d be amazed how often that last one is a problem in central European apartments.

What really sold me on the place was the location, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Piotrkowska – close enough that you can stumble back from the bars without calling an Uber, but far enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists yelling under your window at 2 AM. There’s a decent grocery store practically next door, and honestly, some of the best pierogi I had in the city came from this tiny place just around the corner that I never would have found if I’d stayed in one of those big chain hotels closer to the main drag. The neighborhood has this lived-in feeling that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re just crashing at a friend’s place for a few days.

The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places that just works without any drama. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi didn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the bed was actually comfortable (firm but not rock-hard, which seems to be the default in a lot of European hotels). Sure, it’s not luxury – this is a solid 3-star experience – but sometimes you want a place that’s more about being a perfect home base than about impressing people with marble bathrooms and complimentary champagne. The value is honestly ridiculous for what you get and where you are. I’d definitely book it again, and I’ve already recommended it to a couple of friends planning trips to Łódź. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you actually discovered something rather than just booked the first thing that popped up on the search results.

To book hotel in Lodz during the famous Camerimage Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts film enthusiasts and industrial heritage lovers from around the world.

    Lokalizacja.

What could be improved: Mały pokoik, bez rolety. Telewizor był rozregulowany, w mieszkaniu brak ekspresu do kawy. Jeśli chodzi o czystość – to te nie było szału. Okna były bardzo brudne.
