I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Urban Chic – City Center – Huge and Comfortable -Narutowicza, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. The building sits right on Narutowicza street in Śródmieście, and while the neighborhood has that classic Polish charm, the hotel’s exterior is pretty understated. But man, was I wrong about what waited inside.

The moment you step through those doors, it’s like someone flipped a switch. The lobby actually lives up to that “urban chic” name – there’s this really nice mix of modern Polish design with some industrial touches that somehow doesn’t feel forced or trying too hard. What really impressed me was how spacious everything felt, and I mean everything. The rooms are genuinely huge by European standards (you know how cramped some city center places can be), and they’ve managed to make them feel both sleek and actually comfortable to live in for a few days. The beds are proper comfortable too – not just Instagram-pretty but sink-into-them good. I stayed on the third floor and honestly barely heard any street noise, which is pretty remarkable considering you’re right in the heart of Łódź’s central district.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area. When I asked about getting to Piotrkowska Street – you know, that famous pedestrian stretch everyone talks about – they didn’t just point me toward a map. They told me about the little shortcut through the courtyard that saves you five minutes of walking, and mentioned that Thursday evenings get pretty lively around there if you’re into that scene. The front desk guy also steered me toward this local coffee spot just around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. It’s those kinds of touches that make you feel like you’re staying somewhere run by people who actually care, not just going through the motions. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything they do, they do really well. Plus, honestly, the value is incredible for what you get, especially considering you can walk to most of the interesting parts of Łódź from here without breaking a sweat.

  With a spontaneous booking of a place to sleep with a big family on the roadtrip it was just stressful.
