The windows are generous, and during my stay in late spring, morning light just flooded the main room. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet, which I appreciated after spending time in Warsaw’s chaos. You’re close enough to the city center that you can easily walk or take a quick tram ride, but far enough out that you actually get some peace at night. There’s this little convenience store just around the corner that stays open late (lifesaver when you realize you forgot toothpaste), and honestly, the elderly woman who runs it knows everyone in the area – she gave me better directions than Google Maps ever could.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel room. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no corporate nonsense, just real people who actually seemed to care whether I had everything I needed. The kitchen setup is basic but functional, which comes in handy since Łódź has some fantastic local markets where you can grab fresh bread and those amazing Polish pickles. I will say the shower pressure could be better (it’s adequate, just don’t expect a spa experience), but the hot water was consistently reliable, which honestly matters more. What really sold me on this place was the attention to small details – decent WiFi that didn’t cut out during video calls, blackout curtains that actually block light, and a coffee maker that wasn’t some tiny plastic thing you’d find in a gas station. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtful and genuine in a way that a lot of fancier places aren’t.
