The rooms themselves lean into that studio concept – they’re compact but thoughtfully laid out, sort of like someone actually considered how a person moves through the space. The red and white theme isn’t overwhelming (thank goodness), more like subtle accent touches that tie everything together without screaming at you. What I appreciated most was the attention to practical details – good lighting where you need it, enough outlets for your devices, and surprisingly decent soundproofing considering you’re on a busy street. I stayed there during a weeknight and barely heard the traffic, though I can’t vouch for weekend noise levels. The bathroom was small but functional, with one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works properly – you’d be amazed how often that’s not the case in budget-friendly places.

Staff-wise, they seem to genuinely care about the place, which shows. Check-in was smooth, and when I mentioned I was trying to figure out the best way to get to the textile museum (Łódź’s claim to fame, really), the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward a tourist map – he actually sketched out a walking route that took me past a couple of interesting spots I wouldn’t have found otherwise. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold when you’re exploring a city that doesn’t exactly hand you its secrets on a platter.

The 7.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. You get clean, comfortable accommodations with a bit of personality in a city that’s still figuring out its tourism identity. Honestly, that worked in my favor. Łódź has this raw, post-industrial energy that’s pretty compelling if you’re into cities with stories to tell, and studio red and white fits right into that narrative. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some sanitized hotel bubble. For the price point and the experience, I’d definitely book it again – especially if you’re the type who values character over corporate polish.

  What could be improved: This was the first time for us going wrong with an apartment of a rating of 8+. There was some miscommunication with the owner about our arrival time, which we can ignore, this sometimes happens. But the apartment was just not nice at all: it felt dirty, even the bedsheets didn't feel all that fresh, the apartment was really dark, you could hear the owner loudly next door chatting with the neighbor, no wifi at all in the bedroom and generally poor connection, no comfortable place to eat… and the decoration, eg the beer mats glued to the wall, created a bad atmosphere, as if an alcoholic would usually stay there. The whole building is very old and in poor condition (even for Lodz standards).

  The apartment is close to the center (20 min. walking) and the price is really nice for the location and the fact that it is a whole apartment. It had a lot of facilities even though some of them didn't work.
  
  What could be improved: The wifi was really bad and when i told the owner he told me that he pays a lot so it must be a problem of my device (even though all my devices didnt have good signal). The bathroom was not very clean when i arrived, the toilet seat was visibly dirty. The soundproofing is really bad.
