The thing about this studio apartment setup is that it feels like you’re crashing at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste. I mean, we’re talking about a 3-star property here, so don’t expect marble lobbies or concierge service, but the attention to detail is what gets you. The kitchen actually has everything you need (and I’m someone who gets annoyed when there’s no decent coffee setup), the bed is surprisingly comfortable, and there’s this sense that someone really thought about how travelers actually live when they’re away from home. The whole check-in process was smooth – none of that awkward waiting around in a tiny lobby situation you sometimes get with apartment-style places.

Location-wise, you’re about a 10-minute tram ride from the city center, which honestly works out better than being right in the thick of things because Stefanowskiego is quiet at night. I could actually sleep without earplugs, which… if you’ve stayed in busy European city centers, you know that’s not always a given. Plus – and this is where the local knowledge comes in handy – you’re walking distance from some solid neighborhood spots that most tourists never find. There’s this little pierogi place two blocks over that locals line up for, and the area has that authentic Polish residential vibe without feeling sketchy or too far removed from everything.

What really impressed me though was how the 9.6 rating actually makes sense once you’re there. Usually I’m skeptical of ratings that high because, come on, nothing’s perfect, right? But the value proposition here is just solid. You get space to spread out, a proper kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the nearby shops, and that feeling of living like a local rather than just passing through. The WiFi worked great for video calls (important if you’re working remotely), and there’s decent natural light – something I’ve learned to never take for granted in Eastern European cities during the grayer months. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra day just because you’re comfortable, and honestly, in a city like Łódź where people usually just pass through on their way to Warsaw or Krakow, that’s saying something.

Hotel in Lodz booking should be done early, especially during film festival season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cinematography events.
