I found myself wandering down to Piotrkowska Street pretty easily, and there’s this great little café about two blocks away that the hotel staff clued me in on – the kind of local spot you’d never find on your own. Parking was straightforward too, which is such a relief because navigating some of these older Polish neighborhoods with a rental car can be… well, let’s just say it’s an adventure.

What really got me though was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the area. Not just the obvious recommendations, but like, they knew which tram routes were running late due to construction and suggested a different route to get to Manufaktura. The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between modern comfort and character – clean lines, good lighting for actually reading at night, and the kind of bathroom where you don’t have to do acrobatics to avoid soaking the floor when you shower. The whole place just feels thoughtfully put together, from the way they handle check-in (quick, but not rushed) to the little touches like having actual good coffee available in the morning. I’ve stayed at plenty of 4-star hotels that felt generic, but Slovianka Residence has this quality where you can tell they’re paying attention to what actually matters to travelers, not just checking boxes on some corporate hospitality list.
