I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Radwańska Gold by LookAp on this quiet street in Śródmieście. The building itself is pretty understated, tucked away on Radwańska where you’d probably walk right past it if you weren’t looking. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to shout about themselves from the street.

The moment I stepped inside, I got it. This isn’t your typical cookie-cutter hotel – there’s actually some thought put into the design here. The lobby has this warm, almost residential feel that immediately made me relax after a long day wandering around Łódź’s sometimes overwhelming city center. The staff genuinely seemed happy to see me, which honestly caught me off guard after dealing with some pretty indifferent service at other places in the area. Check-in was smooth, no unnecessary upselling or that awkward dance where they’re clearly reading from a script.

My room was… well, let me put it this way: for a 3-star place, they’re definitely punching above their weight. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained – the kind of attention to detail you usually have to pay more for. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given, even in nicer hotels), and I appreciated the blackout curtains since Radwańska can get a bit lively in the evenings with people heading to the bars and restaurants scattered around Śródmieście. The bathroom was compact but smartly designed, with good water pressure and toiletries that didn’t smell like industrial disinfectant. You’re not going to get a massive space here – I mean, it’s Łódź, not some sprawling resort – but they’ve used every square meter thoughtfully.

What really won me over, though, was the location. You’re right in the heart of things without being stuck on some tourist-trap street where every restaurant charges double for mediocre pierogi. Walk five minutes in any direction and you’ll hit Piotrkowska Street with all its cafés and nightlife, but you can also easily explore some of the quieter neighborhoods where locals actually hang out. There’s decent public transport nearby if you want to check out places like Manufaktura or the film museum, but honestly, most of what makes Łódź interesting is within walking distance. Parking was surprisingly hassle-free too – they sorted that out without the usual city center drama.

I stayed three nights and found myself looking forward to coming back each evening, which says something. The housekeeping was consistent, the WiFi actually worked throughout the building (revolutionary concept, I know), and there’s something to be said for a place that just… works without any fuss. It’s not flashy, it won’t be featured in design magazines, but it does exactly what you want a hotel to do: gives you a comfortable base to explore from without breaking the bank or dealing with unnecessary complications. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve actually stayed there – it’s one of those places that gets all the basics right and throws in a few pleasant surprises along the way.

  A new apartment, very well designed for all travellers’ needs. Plenty of storage, all necessary kitchen utensils and cookware provided, nice and bright. Walking distance to public transport, Piotrkowska, several shops nearby.
  Fantastic communication throughout. The coffee capsules were missing on our arrival, they were delivered shortly after I messaged, with an apology.
  Sleeps 6 people comfortably. I would happily stay there again on our future visits to Łódź.
  
  What could be improved: Not a negative but rather a suggestion for the future – we arrived very late at night and even Zabka was closed. I would have liked a welcome water bottle to be there on our arrival, we were dehydrated after a long flight and had to go on a quest to find a shop that was still open after midnight as kids were very thirsty.
