Platon Residence Apartments Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Platon Residence Apartments on Stefanowskiego Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard residential building in Łódź. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t feel like they’re trying too hard, and this turned out to be exactly that kind of gem.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Łódź at all. You’re tucked into this quiet neighborhood that feels properly Polish – none of that touristy bubble stuff – but you can still walk to the main action without breaking a sweat. I mean, you’re close enough to Piotrkowska Street (that’s the main pedestrian drag everyone talks about) without dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling past your windows at 2 AM. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Eastern European apartment block feel, which I actually found sort of comforting after bouncing between flashy chain hotels in other cities.

What really surprised me was how thoughtfully these apartments are set up. The people running this place clearly understand what travelers actually need – and I’m talking about the stuff that matters when you’re living somewhere for more than just a night or two. The kitchens aren’t just for show (honestly, I cooked more meals here than I expected because everything worked properly and there was actual counter space), and the Wi-Fi didn’t mysteriously cut out every time I tried to video call home. The beds are properly comfortable too, not those firm-as-a-board European mattresses that leave you walking like a robot the next morning. Small details, but they add up when you’re trying to feel human while traveling.

I stayed during what I’d guess was a pretty typical weeknight period, and the building was wonderfully quiet – you forget how rare that is until you’re actually sleeping through the night without earplugs. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no complicated key card systems or confusing elevator access codes. Just… normal and easy, which honestly felt like a luxury after some of the overly complicated places I’ve stayed recently. The whole experience reminded me why apartment-style stays can be so much better than hotels when you find the right spot. You get that sense of actually living somewhere instead of just passing through, but without having to figure out sketchy neighborhoods or worry about whether the hot water will work. That 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Łódź, but it absolutely nails the fundamentals that matter most when you’re away from home.

Hotels in Lodz offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this creative metropolis, with easy access to museums, galleries, and former textile factories.

  • Self sufficient, confortable enjoyable – Piotr from Italy – June 18, 2025 (8/10)

I loved the place, it was more like renting an apartment then staying in a hotel. The room was extremely nice, I'm a country person so i was scared the noise wouldn't make me sleep in a big city, thankfully it was in a peaceful neighborhood. I loved the experience. Only bad thing was the smell on the second floor hallway, i think an animal died somewhere in the sealing. I worked on a farm i know how dead animals smell.

What could be improved: The smell on the 2 floor haha
