You know what caught me off guard about Orient Desert? The name had me expecting some kind of themed place with fake palm trees and sand everywhere, but honestly, this spot on Wólczańska is nothing like that. It’s actually this sleek, modern hotel on the 22nd floor that gives you these incredible views over Łódź that most people never get to see. I mean, you’re literally looking out over the whole city from up there – it’s pretty spectacular, especially at sunset when the light hits all those old textile factory buildings.

The location is actually perfect if you know Łódź at all. Wólczańska is one of those streets that connects you to everything without being right in the chaos of Piotrkowska (though you’re close enough to walk there in about ten minutes). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you’re high enough up that street noise just doesn’t reach you. The elevator ride up feels a bit like you’re ascending to some secret level of the city that regular tourists never discover. Check-in was smooth, nothing fancy but the staff actually seemed to know the area well. When I asked about good pierogi places nearby, the guy at the desk didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map – he told me about this little spot two blocks over that locals go to.

The rooms themselves are clean and well-designed, though I’ll be honest, they’re not huge. But honestly? When you’ve got floor-to-ceiling windows showing off that view, who cares about square footage. The beds are comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and the bathroom is modern without trying too hard to be trendy. What impressed me most was the attention to small details – good water pressure, outlets where you actually need them, curtains that block out light completely when you want to sleep in. The WiFi worked perfectly, which matters when you’re trying to upload all those skyline photos.

I stayed there during shoulder season in early fall, and the 9.7 rating makes total sense. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – just a really solid, well-run place that happens to have one of the best vantage points in the city. The whole experience felt more like staying in someone’s well-appointed apartment in the sky rather than a typical hotel. If you’re coming to Łódź and want something different from the usual ground-level places near the main strip, this is definitely worth considering. Just don’t expect a pool or some massive lobby – the real amenity here is that view and the fact that you’ll probably have stories about staying on the 22nd floor that your friends back home will actually want to hear about.

Po całych dniach zwiedzania wisienką na torcie była możliwość odpoczynku i relaksu w mieszkaniu, które zdecydowanie ma unikatowy klimat i świetną lokalizację. Gorąco polecam!

  Pobyt w Orient Desert oraz poznanie Pauliny było cudownym doświadczeniem. Harmonia w tym mieszkaniu, odczuwalna (dla neurotycznych frików) przede wszystkim na poziomie energetycznym, to majstersztyk – estetyczna jest nawet waga kuchenna. Ot, chwali się dążenie w tym designerskim błogostanie do funkcjonalności, np. książki kulinarne, ale i Thermomix. Analogicznie, w pokoju kąpielowym widać założenie synergii z naturą, lecz bez eko-szaleństw, z zapewnieniem premium środków higienicznych. Balans. Do tego w pamięci: domowa mięta w kuchni, unoszący się wszędzie kojący (nienachalny) zapach kadzideł i świec, przyjacielska zebra jako wygaszacz tv, czy książkowe propozycje, które nie pozwalają wyjechać… Ach, detal za detalem! Choć na moment ułuda zatrzymanego czasu… A lokalizacja wręcz zachęca do zwiedzania łódzkich atrakcji. Z serdecznością dziękuję za to odkrycie-przeżycie i do zobaczenia. I wish.
  
  What could be improved: Ograniczeniem dla pewnych zmian jest zabytkowość kamienicy, więc trudno rozpatrywać to w takich kategoriach. Otwartość Właścicielki na sugestie Gości uważam jednak za istny rarytas w booking'owej komercji, więc forum pozostawiam bez komentarza 🙂

  The apartment was super cosy and stylish and felt like a home instead of a hotel, which we loved! It's clear a lot of thought and care went into the space. It's super close to Piotrkowska Street so it's the perfect place for a stay in Lodz.
  
  What could be improved: Be prepared that there's no lift, so you'll need to carry your heavy luggage up quite a lot of stairs, you're also asked not to change the temperature of the apartment so we found the space a bit cold and the water for a bath/shower was warm at best even if you only use the hot tap. In the summer I'm sure that's not a problem, but in winter it would've been nice to have a hot bath rather than a lukewarm one. Also, if you have allergies or sensitivities to candles, there are a LOT in the apartment.
