I stumbled across Nad Łódką during a business trip to Łódź last spring, and honestly? It turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you don’t expect in an industrial city. The name literally means “by the boat,” which had me scratching my head at first – I mean, we’re talking about central Poland here, not exactly maritime territory. But once you get to Podrzeczna Street in the Baluty district, it all makes sense. The whole area has this quirky nautical theme running through it, and the hotel plays right into that vibe without going overboard (pun intended).

What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel both cozy and professional at the same time. The lobby has this warm, lived-in quality – you know, the kind where the furniture actually looks comfortable instead of just stylish. I checked in around 2 PM on a Tuesday, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to see me, not just going through the motions. My room was clean without being sterile, if that makes sense. The bed was surprisingly good for a 3-star place – I actually slept through the night, which doesn’t always happen when I’m traveling. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure and those little touches that show someone was paying attention during the renovation.

Here’s the thing about staying in Baluty – it’s not the postcard-pretty part of Łódź, but it’s real. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the main Piotrkowska Street action, which I actually preferred. Less tourist chaos, more authentic Polish city life happening right outside your window. There’s a decent pierogi place just two blocks down that the hotel receptionist recommended, and she was absolutely right about it. The area gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, so if you’re looking for nightlife, you’ll need to venture into the center. But if you want to actually sleep and maybe experience Łódź like a local instead of just hitting the obvious spots, this works perfectly. The 8.9 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense – it’s a solid, unpretentious place that does the basics really well and throws in just enough character to make you remember it fondly.

  Przestronne i bardzo jasne mieszkanie w świetnej lokalizacji – niewielka odległość od Manufaktury czy ulicy Piotrkowskiej, ale jednak dużo spokojniejsze otoczenie.
  Wystrój został z głową zaprojektowany i choć widać na nim już elementy zużycia, to mieszkanie generalnie jest komfortowe i wyposażone we wszystkie niezbędne sprzęty, idealne dla czterech osób.
  Komunikacja z właścicielką bez zarzutu.

  Polecam wszystkim podróżującym w większym gronie, mieszkanie zlokalizowane na 2 piętrze, dobrze wyposażone, czysto i schludnie. Mieszkanie składa się z sypialni (duże łóżko małżeńskie), salonu (dwa pojedyńcze łóżka złączone, dodatkowo duża sofa rogowa), kuchnia (dość ciasna, ale 3 osoby w niej spokojnie się zmieszczą). Lokalizacja pozwala na szybkie przemieszczenie się do Manufaktury (na piechotę) oraz na ul. Piotrkowską (tutaj dobrze podjechać tramwajem), a do Teatru Muzycznego jest 15min spaceru. Bez problemu miejsce parkingowe pod blokiem dostępne (parkowanie na ulicy).

  Bardzo ładne i przestronne mieszkanie, w pełni wyposażone we wszystko co niezbędne podczas wyjazdu. Wszystko zgodne z opisem. Piękna okolica, z okien widok na park, wszędzie blisko. Z miejscem parkingowym pod blokiem również nie było problemu. Wyjątkowo dobry kontakt z właścicielką. Miejsce godne polecenia.
