I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Marina on Wólczańska Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages, and this little gem in Łódź absolutely proved that point.

The location is actually pretty smart if you know the city at all. Wólczańska runs right through some of Łódź’s most interesting neighborhoods, and you’re walking distance from the revitalized Manufaktura complex (though honestly, the walk takes about 15 minutes, so maybe grab a tram if you’re loaded down with shopping bags). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – I mean, you get the occasional tram rumbling by, but nothing that’ll keep you awake. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They actually seemed to know the area well and gave me solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t just the usual tourist traps.

Here’s the thing about Marina that really won me over – it feels like they actually care about the details. The rooms aren’t fancy, but everything works properly, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. I stayed on the third floor and had this nice view of the street below where you can watch Łódź wake up in the morning with people heading to work and students hurrying to catch trams. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure (always a concern in older Polish buildings). What really impressed me was the cleanliness – I travel a lot for work, and you’d be amazed how many places miss the little things, but Marina’s housekeeping team clearly takes pride in their work. The breakfast wasn’t elaborate, but it hit all the right notes with fresh bread, local cheeses, and coffee that didn’t taste like it came from a machine that hadn’t been cleaned since 2019. Parking can be a bit tricky on Wólczańska itself, but there’s usually space on the side streets, and the hotel staff pointed me toward a secure lot nearby that wasn’t too expensive. That 9.2 rating? Yeah, I can see why – it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, but what it does, it does really well.

  Bardzo fajne miejsce na nocleg. Położne w zasadzie w centrum, ale bardzo ciche i spokojne miejsce. Blisko do miejsc, które najbardziej nas interesowały. Bardzo wygodne łóżko (inne niż na zdjęciach). Dużym udogodnieniem był prywatny parking. Polecam.

  Very cozy apartment in the city center (Piotrkowska Street is within walking distance). Perfect for 1-2 people; there is everything you need for a comfortable life, from tableware to a TV and a hairdryer. Cleanliness and silence are also woth noting.
