Look, I’ll be honest – when I first arrived at Manufaktura Modern Apartment on Drewnowska, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. The Baluty district isn’t exactly Łódź’s picture-perfect area, you know? But here’s the thing about this city – some of the greatest discoveries are hidden away in these former industrial neighborhoods, and this place is really a perfect example of that.

The apartment itself genuinely surprised me. I mean, “modern” is right there in the name, but they actually followed through on it. Clean lines, well-proportioned rooms, and – this matters more than you’d think – proper blackout curtains that actually function. The kitchen’s well-equipped enough that I could brew proper coffee in the morning instead of that instant stuff, which honestly improved my whole stay. You’re about a ten-minute walk from the enormous Manufaktura shopping center (hence the name, I’m guessing), which is this incredible converted textile factory complex. It’s touristy, sure, but also genuinely impressive – and more importantly, it’s where you’ll find good restaurants and that big Carrefour if you need groceries.

What I really valued was how quiet it becomes at night. Drewnowska can be busy during the day with people heading to and from the shopping district, but once evening arrives, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The tram connections are excellent too – line 9 gets you into the city center in about fifteen minutes, and there’s a stop just a few blocks away. Parking was straightforward, which anyone who’s tried to park near Piotrkowska Street will tell you is not something to take for granted. The host was responsive when I had questions about the heating system (November in Poland, enough said), and check-in was refreshingly easy – none of that awkward waiting around wondering if you’re at the right building. It’s definitely more residential than hotel-fancy, but that worked for me. You get space to spread out, you’re close enough to walk to major attractions when the weather’s decent, and honestly, for the price point, it delivers what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.
