You know what caught me off guard about Manufaktura Apartamenty Bakery? I wasn’t expecting to find such a gem tucked away on Młynarska Street in the Baluty district. I mean, the name alone had me curious – there’s actually a working bakery on the ground floor, and honestly, waking up to the smell of fresh bread drifting up to your apartment is something you don’t forget. The whole setup is in this beautifully restored private townhouse (that’s what “prywatna kamienica” means), and they’ve managed to keep all the original character while making it feel completely modern.

The location in Baluty is actually pretty smart – you’re away from the tourist crowds but still close enough to walk to Manufaktura (the shopping center, not to be confused with the hotel name) in about fifteen minutes. What I really appreciated was the guarded parking situation. Finding secure parking in Łódź can be a real headache, especially around the city center, so having that sorted with a code system was one less thing to worry about. The air conditioning was a lifesaver during my July visit too – Polish summers can get surprisingly muggy, and a lot of older buildings just don’t have proper cooling. The apartment I stayed in had these gorgeous high ceilings and original hardwood floors that creaked just enough to remind you of the building’s history without being annoying.

I’ll be honest, the whole code-access system felt a bit impersonal at first (no traditional front desk check-in), but it actually grew on me. You get your codes sent via text, and there’s something liberating about coming and going whenever you want without having to explain yourself to anyone. The apartments themselves are spacious – I had friends visiting from Warsaw, and we never felt cramped. The kitchen was properly equipped too, not just the usual mini-fridge and hot plate situation you sometimes get. Though if you’re not much of a cook, that bakery downstairs becomes your best friend pretty quickly. Their rogale świętomarcińskie aren’t authentic (that’s more of a Poznań thing), but their everyday bread and pastries are spot-on. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s those little details that add up, like the quality linens and the fact that the WiFi actually works throughout the entire building. Sure, Baluty isn’t the prettiest district in Łódź, but this place feels like a proper home base for exploring the city, and you’re getting genuine Polish hospitality without the tourist markup.

  Close to centre, onw entry to appartman, free car parking, wifi, kitchen, aircondition. For short stay is sufficient. Small sweet surprise were waiting for us after arrival. Owner help us with troubles with code door locker immiadetely.

  Clean apartment with basic equipment to have a good stay. Apartment is located in a residential area in a reasonable distance from the center of Lodz. There is Zabka on the other side of the road for food shopping and the apartment has a kitchen equippet to cook your own dinner. Excellent parking in a closed yard and very good communication with the host. I had a succesful one night stay here during my long road trip across Poland with my dog. Extra plus for the Netflix and quality TV – nice way to relax after a long drive.

  The location was amazing, and the decor. The host was very hospitable and brought us fresh local bread for breakfast.
  
  What could be improved: The shower in the apartment no 2 was leaking.I reported it to the host as he wasnt aware of it.

  Giving us bread in the morning was the sweetest gesture. We've always been in łodz for medical reason and we've never experienced such. Thats a big big plus.
