I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from an apartment booking in Baluty, but Lumina lux apartment on Drewnowska completely changed my perspective on this part of Łódź. You know what struck me first? The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream luxury but whispers it instead. The moment you step inside, there’s this sense of calm that’s pretty rare to find, especially when you’re used to cramped hotel rooms in city centers.

The location on Drewnowska is actually brilliant if you know Łódź at all. Sure, it’s not right in the historic Piotrkowska area where all the tourists flock, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re in a genuinely residential neighborhood where you can grab groceries at the local shops, watch how locals actually live, and still reach the main attractions without any hassle. I mean, the tram connections are solid, and honestly, walking through this district gave me a much better feel for the city than staying in some generic downtown spot would have. The area gets quiet in the evenings – which I loved after long days exploring – but there’s enough life during the day that you never feel isolated.

What really impressed me was the attention to detail inside the apartment. The furnishings feel carefully chosen rather than just ordered in bulk from some hotel supply catalog. The kitchen actually functions like a real kitchen (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and the bed – well, let’s just say I slept better than I have in months. The whole place has this natural light that flows beautifully throughout the day, probably thanks to those large windows that face the right direction. Small thing, but the water pressure in the shower was absolutely perfect, and the heating system worked quietly – no weird clicking sounds at 3 AM like you get in some places. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Polish cities will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s one of those places that gets the fundamentals so right that you don’t realize how much stress you normally carry from small inconveniences until they’re just… gone.

  Central location, few minutes away from Manufaktura and Piotrkowska street. The area felt very safe, easy access to the staircase and the apartment. Great view with the windows to the west (my apartment was located on the top floor) very warm flat.
  
  What could be improved: Bed was not comfortable very thin mattress. There was no microwave but there was an over and hob to heat up the food and the last thing is the lack of the air-con which would’ve been a great benefit when it’s around 30 degrees Celsius outside and the sun shining majority of the day through balcony windows.

  What could be improved: No privacy in bedroom as there was a full length window with no curtain or blind. The mattress was uncomfortable mostly due to the slats underneath broken and missing.

  A new apartment with easy parking under the building. A decent core facility that did the job.
  
  What could be improved: It seems typical that when a company is operating apartments like this, then the basic things that you expect to be provided, on top of the apartment shell, are either not there or provided in a very miserly way. For example at this location we arrive to find half a toilet roll, a bed un made, two towels the size of kitchen T towels and very minimal kitchen tools. It's always a dissappointment.

  What could be improved: parking was a major issue. The parking spots are not marked; we could not find the one we were allowed to use. We left the car on a spot that had no barrier with my phone number as the security suggested. Only to be called by an extremely rude awful women about how I am parking in her spot and she went on a 5min rant of rude words. Dampened our stay & view of the locals.:(
