You know what really struck me about Lumina 2-level apartment with balcony? The moment I walked in, it felt like someone’s stylish friend had just handed me the keys to their place for the weekend. And honestly, when you’re staying right on Piotrkowska Street – basically Łódź’s main artery – you expect some trade-offs, but this place manages to give you all the energy of the city without the typical noise chaos.

The two-level setup is actually brilliant. I mean, you’ve got this spacious living area downstairs where you can spread out, cook something decent (the kitchen has everything you’d actually want to use), and then retreat upstairs when you want to crash. That balcony though – that’s where the magic happens. I spent way too many evenings out there with a beer, watching Piotrkowska come alive below. During the day, you catch glimpses of locals heading to work, but by evening it transforms into this buzzing strip of restaurants and bars. The street art scattered around the neighborhood changes pretty regularly too, which I didn’t expect but really loved discovering.

What I appreciated most was how they’ve managed to create this five-star feel without it being precious or sterile. The furnishings are modern and comfortable – like that couch you could actually nap on – and everything works properly (shower pressure was excellent, Wi-Fi never failed me). Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in Śródmieście, but there are options within a few blocks if you’re driving. I actually ended up walking everywhere though. You’re literally minutes from some of the best pierogi spots in the city, and if you’re into the whole industrial heritage thing Łódź is known for, you can wander over to Manufaktura or catch one of the film screenings that pop up around town – this is Poland’s movie capital, after all. The apartment gets surprisingly quiet at night despite being in the thick of things, though weekend evenings you’ll definitely hear the street life if you keep the balcony doors open. But honestly? That just made it feel more alive to me.

  Location is about as central as it is possible to be in Lodz and is in walking distance of Fabryczna Station. Internet was outstanding and the flat had all the facilities you could possibly need (cooker, fridge, washing machine etc)
  
  What could be improved: The property itself is located facing into a courtyard that was more like a gypsy campsite than a city centre apartment. All night parties, builders firing up generators at 7 in the morning. Dogs barking, kids screaming etc NONE of this is the fault of the hosts, but if you are here to work (as I was) get a hotel, as you will not be getting any sleep.

  The apartment is amazing, affordable and located in a great part of town. It's modern and a very clean apartment. It's the best place for a solo traveler or a couple. That said, their bath towels were very small and they didn't have cutlery at all (they had dishes and pans, but no knives, forks or spoons).
