The studio itself has this authentic loft feel that doesn’t try too hard – exposed brick here and there, decent ceiling height, and windows that actually let in proper light (something I’ve learned not to take for granted in Polish apartments). What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details. The kitchen setup is small but functional enough that I could make my morning coffee without hunting around for basic stuff, and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, with good water pressure – honestly, after staying in places where the shower feels like a gentle mist, this was refreshing.

Location-wise, Targowa puts you in this interesting spot where you’re living like a local but not stranded. There’s a decent grocery store just a few blocks down, and I found this little café around the corner that serves proper pierogi (the kind locals actually eat, not tourist versions). The tram connections from this area are actually pretty solid – I mean, it’s not like staying right in Piotrkowska where everything’s at your doorstep, but you get a real sense of residential Łódź life here. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Polish cities will appreciate. The neighborhood gets properly quiet in the evenings, so if you’re someone who needs actual silence to sleep well, this works. I stayed during a busy weekend and barely heard any street noise after about 10 PM. The whole experience felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a typical hotel setup – which depending on what you’re after, could be exactly what you want or maybe not quite right if you prefer full service. For the price point and that solid 8.3 rating, it delivers on being a genuine hideaway without any pretense.
