Nothing feels cramped though, which is pretty impressive for what’s essentially a one-room space.

What really sold me on this place was how the owner clearly gets what travelers actually need. The kitchenette isn’t just for show (I actually cooked a few meals there), the Wi-Fi doesn’t drop out every five minutes, and there’s enough storage that you’re not living out of your suitcase the whole time. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the shower pressure is genuinely good – something you don’t always get in older Polish buildings. The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’re there because while it’s not fancy, everything just works the way it should. I stayed during a particularly busy weekend when half of Warsaw seemed to be visiting Łódź, and check-in was smooth despite my delayed train arrival.

You know what really struck me? The location gives you this insider’s view of how regular people live in Łódź. There’s a little grocery store around the corner where the cashier started recognizing me after two days, and you’re close enough to hear the trams but far enough that they won’t wake you up at dawn. If you’re the type who likes exploring beyond the tourist trail – and honestly, Łódź rewards that kind of curiosity – this spot works perfectly as a base. It’s not going to wow you with marble bathrooms or fancy amenities, but it’ll give you a genuine taste of the city without breaking the bank. For a 3-star place, it punches well above its weight.
