When I first walked up to Ilumino by LookAp on Kilińskiego Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot in central Łódź – but this place completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. The building itself has this understated modern vibe that fits right into the neighborhood without trying too hard, you know? And being right in Śródmieście means you’re literally in the heart of everything that makes Łódź interesting.

What really got me was how thoughtfully they’ve designed the interiors. I mean, the lobby has this warm lighting (hence the name, I guess) that actually makes you want to linger instead of just rushing through to your room. The staff behind the front desk seemed genuinely happy to be there, which – let’s be honest – isn’t always the case at mid-range hotels. My room was compact but cleverly laid out, with these little touches that showed someone was actually thinking about how real people use hotel spaces. The bathroom had proper water pressure (thank god), and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for what I was expecting. There’s decent soundproofing too, which matters when you’re staying in the city center – though you’ll still catch some street noise if you’re a light sleeper and forget to close the windows.

The location is honestly perfect for exploring Łódź without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble. You’re walking distance from Piotrkowska Street, which is basically the main artery of the city, but you’re on a quieter side street so it doesn’t feel chaotic. I loved being able to grab coffee at one of the local spots in the morning and then wander over to the old factory districts that Łódź is famous for. The tram connections are solid from this area too – you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without much hassle. What surprised me most was how the hotel manages to feel both polished and unpretentious at the same time. It’s not trying to be a luxury experience, but everything works well and feels intentional. The common areas have this relaxed energy where you might actually strike up a conversation with other travelers, and the breakfast (when I caught it early enough) had some nice local touches alongside the usual hotel fare. For the price point and the location, it’s honestly hard to find much to complain about – which probably explains why it’s got such high ratings from other guests.

  Appartment is spatious, clean and in a new building. All the amenities are new. Very close to the main street. The communication with hosts was very efficient and pleasent. WiFi works great for everyone coming for business.
  
  What could be improved: The bed in the bedroom is a bit squeaky – the matrice is too thin. The area is still in the development stage so the surrounding does not look super safe for solo travelers.
