Hotel Rubin Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hotel Rubin on ul. Lodowa, I wasn’t expecting much from this unassuming 3-star spot in Łódź. But you know what? Sometimes the places that don’t try too hard end up surprising you the most. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Polish architecture that’s actually kind of refreshing after staying in too many cookie-cutter chain hotels. There’s decent street parking if you’re driving (which I’d recommend in Łódź, honestly), and the entrance has this understated charm that immediately tells you this is a place run by people who actually care.
What really won me over was how genuine everything felt here. The staff at check-in were incredibly helpful – not in that scripted hotel way, but like they genuinely wanted to make sure I knew where to find good pierogi nearby (there’s this fantastic little place about three blocks down, by the way). My room was clean and comfortable, with none of the weird quirks you sometimes get at budget places. The beds are actually decent quality, which matters more than fancy amenities when you’re trying to sleep. I mean, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, but it’s tasteful and functional. The bathroom was spotless, and – this is going to sound silly – but the water pressure was surprisingly good. You don’t realize how much you miss a proper shower until you’ve had a few disappointing ones on the road.
The location on ul. Lodowa is actually pretty smart if you know Łódź at all. You’re close enough to the city center that everything’s accessible, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the noise and chaos of the main tourist areas. It’s in one of those neighborhoods where you see actual locals going about their daily lives, which I always find more interesting than being stuck in a tourist bubble. The 7.9 rating this place has earned feels spot-on – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. I stayed here during a particularly busy weekend in the city, and while other travelers were complaining about overpriced rooms and poor service elsewhere, I was perfectly content. There’s something to be said for a place that focuses on the basics and gets them right consistently. If you’re looking for a reliable, honest hotel experience in Łódź without breaking the bank, Hotel Rubin delivers in all the ways that actually matter.
To book a hotel in Lodz during major cultural events, travelers need early planning as this former textile capital draws visitors eager to experience its post-industrial transformation and cinema heritage.

The location was perfect for those who are traveling for work, as it is nearby the main companies in the area.
It provides many rooms for meetings and events.

Comfortable beds, spacious rooms. Those chairs were super comfy too! 😊
What could be improved: Parking prices were not displayed on the site. And was a surprise when the woman at the reception mentioned that the hotel must charge a fee for parking. It should've been told at time of arrival, at least.Good – Marcelina from Kenya – October 12, 2022 (8/10)
