But after spending a few nights at this 3-star gem on Mohandasa Gandhiego street in Łódź’s Bałuty district, I totally get why it’s pulling in those 9.3 ratings. The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it genuinely feels like someone converted an old factory space into the coziest home away from home you could imagine.

The Bałuty area isn’t exactly the postcard part of Łódź, but honestly, that’s what I loved about it. You’re staying where actual locals live and work, not in some touristy bubble. The building itself has this industrial-chic thing going on (hence the “factory” bit), with high ceilings and these great big windows that flood the rooms with natural light. What really got me though was how quiet it was at night – I mean, you’d expect some street noise being right in the city, but the rooms are surprisingly well-insulated. I actually slept better there than I do at home, which is saying something.

The staff really knows their stuff when it comes to getting around Łódź. They pointed me toward this little pierogi place about ten minutes’ walk away that I never would’ve found on my own – the kind of spot that doesn’t even have a proper sign out front. And parking? Well, it’s city center Poland, so you know it’s going to be a bit of a puzzle, but they’ve got arrangements with a nearby lot that won’t completely destroy your budget. Check-in was smooth as anything too – none of that awkward waiting around while they figure out your reservation. The whole place just runs efficiently without feeling corporate, you know? It’s got this relaxed, residential vibe where you can actually spread out and feel comfortable. I ended up extending my stay by two nights because, frankly, I wasn’t ready to leave yet. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight class.

  Wszystko świetnie, lokalizacja przyjemna, blisko do tramwaju, którym można dostać się do centrum i dworca.
  Wyposażenie lokalu zadowalające, duża lodówka, telewizor, wygodne łóżka. Nic tylko wracać na wakacje.

  What could be improved: Spałam na łóżku sama i było ok, ale w momencie, gdy druga osoba na łóżku choćby siadała, to zaczynało bardzo skrzypieć. Nie wiem, czy to materac, czy stelaż, ale warto byłoby to poprawić. Wtedy będzie idealnie.
