I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to High Standard-University District on Uniwersytecka Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a fairly ordinary apartment building. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are hiding in plain sight, and this little gem proved that point perfectly.

The location is actually brilliant if you understand Łódź at all. You’re right in Śródmieście, which means you can walk to pretty much everything that matters – Piotrkowska Street is just a few minutes away, and honestly, being near the university area gives the whole neighborhood this energetic vibe without being annoyingly loud. I mean, sure, you’ll hear some student chatter during the day, but it dies down pretty early. The apartment setup (it’s apartment 12 if you’re looking for it) feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room. There’s actual character here – good natural light, and the furnishings are simple but thoughtful. Nothing fancy, but everything works, which is more than I can say for some supposedly higher-end places I’ve stayed.

What really impressed me was how the staff actually seemed to care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth – no standing around waiting while they figured out their computer system or whatever. And they knew the area well enough to give real recommendations, not just the tourist trap stuff you find in guidebooks. When I asked about parking (because let’s face it, driving in Łódź can be a headache), they had solid advice about street parking and nearby options. The whole experience felt refreshingly straightforward, which probably explains that 8.8 rating – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing the basics really well. You’re close enough to explore the revitalized parts of the city center, but far enough from the main tourist crowds that you feel like you’re experiencing the real Łódź. If you’re the type who prefers authentic local experiences over glossy hotel lobbies, this place will definitely work for you.

  There was easily enough space for 5 people, quite comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, tv, one room had balcony. City center could be reached by foot. There was no problem to come back to the flat with a public transport from the Atlas arena in the evening after the concert.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom stands out for not being renovated while other rooms in the flat are renewed. Neighbors immediately expressed dissatisfaction with the parking of the car.

  What could be improved: Gana didelis triukšmas iš gatvės, tačiau užsidarius langus beveik nesigirdi. Parkingas geras, yra laisvų vietų. Visko yra, ko reikia, jei norima likti ir ilgesniam laikui.

  As the flat is in older building there are few impractical things inside the flat but overall price to quality is really good. The flat is close to the center. Parking lot was always available. All necessary equipment was there. Communications with the rental company was fast and accurate.

  Butas suplanuotas gan patogiai. Patys svarbiausi dalykai yra. Vienos lovos čiužinys kietas, o kitos labai minkštas. Patalynė švari. Gal tik trūksta kabliukų prieškambaryje lauko rūbams. Parkingas gatvėse iš abiejų namo pusių. Nemokamas. Netoliese maisto parduotuvė, vaistinė.
  
  What could be improved: Nepatiko rajonas: labai netvarkinga. Šiukšlių konteineriai atviri, paukščiai išnešioja šiukšles, smirda. Pati Lodzė sudarė netvarkingo miesto įspūdį. Net netoliese esantį parką sunku pavadinti parku.
