Good Time Residence Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Good Time Residence on Piotrkowska, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come when you’re not trying too hard, and this little gem really surprised me.

The thing about staying right on Piotrkowska Street is that you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Łódź. I mean, this is THE pedestrian street – think of it as Łódź’s answer to a European boulevard, lined with cafes, street art, and those gorgeous 19th-century tenements that somehow survived everything history threw at them. The Good Time Residence sits right in this mix, so you’ll hear some street life (especially on weekend evenings), but honestly, it’s the good kind of buzz that makes you feel connected to the city. The windows are decent quality, so it’s not like you’re camping on the sidewalk or anything.

What really got me was how the staff actually seemed to care – not in that over-the-top way that feels fake, but more like they genuinely wanted you to enjoy Łódź. The guy at reception (I think his name was Marcin?) knew exactly which tram to catch to get to Manufaktura shopping center, and when I mentioned wanting to see some of the famous murals, he sketched out a little walking route on the back of a business card. The rooms themselves are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.

Here’s something I really appreciated – the building has this old-world charm that you get in converted historic properties, with high ceilings and original architectural details, but they’ve modernized it sensibly. Good wifi throughout, proper shower pressure, and the heating works well (important if you’re visiting during those brutal Polish winters). The location means you can walk to most of the interesting parts of Śródmieście district without breaking a sweat, and there’s a decent Polish restaurant literally next door where locals actually eat – always a good sign. I watched them through the window one morning and it wasn’t just tourists stumbling in with guidebooks.

The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me – this isn’t luxury, but it’s solid, authentic, and genuinely well-run. If you want to experience Łódź like someone who actually lives here rather than just checking off tourist boxes, the Good Time Residence puts you right where you need to be. Plus, honestly, the value is excellent for what you get, especially considering you’re staying on the most important street in the city center.

  • Very Good – Daniil from Estonia – June 26, 2025 (8/10)

Spacious apartment in an old house with antique furniture. Location with access to the promenade, where there are many cafes and grocery stores. There is parking in the yard.

What could be improved: Those who do not like noise at night will probably be bothered by the shouts of cafe visitors or noisy companies on the balconies nearby.

Great location, spacious rooms, kettle, tea, and instant coffee provided in the room
