The location on Gdańska Street is one of those spots that locals appreciate but tourists might overlook at first glance. You’re basically in the heart of things without the tourist trap chaos – I mean, you can walk to the main shopping areas and restaurants, but you’re not dealing with constant street noise at night. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Polish architecture feel, and honestly, the rooms are way cleaner and more thoughtfully set up than I expected. What really surprised me was the attention to small details – proper blackout curtains (trust me, this matters more than you think), decent water pressure in the shower, and they actually have outlets where you need them instead of hidden behind furniture.

Here’s the thing about staying in Łódź that most people don’t realize until they’re here – it’s not Warsaw or Krakow, so you’re not paying tourist prices for everything, but you’re still getting a genuinely interesting Polish city experience. The staff at LookAp seemed to understand this balance perfectly. They’re not overly formal, but they know their neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good pierogi place two blocks over (not the obvious tourist spot) and can tell you which tram lines actually run on time. I stayed here during what turned out to be a pretty busy weekend in the city, and while I could hear some street activity, it wasn’t the kind of thing that kept me awake – more like the comfortable hum of a city that’s actually alive. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that drawn-out process where they try to upsell you everything under the sun.

What really sold me on this place, though, was realizing how much thought went into making it work for actual travelers rather than just looking good in photos. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout the building – I tested it because I had work to catch up on – and there’s enough space in the rooms to actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night or two. Plus, and this might sound minor, but the neighborhood has that authentic Polish residential feel where you can grab groceries or coffee without everything being designed for tourists. If you’re the kind of person who likes to experience a place rather than just pass through it, this spot gives you that option without breaking the bank.

  Pobyt na kilka nocy w czasie powrotu z wakacji nad polskim morzem. Lokalizacja świetna, osiedle strzeżone i monitorowane, rowery zostawialiśmy na zewnątrz i nie czuliśmy z tego powodu niepokoju, że ich rano nie zobaczymy 😉 Bezpiecznie, nowocześnie i przyjemnie. Bardzo blisko do znanych miejsc w Łodzi (ulica Piotrkowska, Aquaparku FALA, orientarium Łódź, galeria "Manufaktura") – wszędzie tam chodziliśmy lub jeździliśmy rowerami (jak macie możliwość korzystania z rowerów to z całego serca polecamy – całe miasto w ścieżkach rowerowych).
  
  What could be improved: Jedynym mankamentem jest brak parkingu dla tego konkretnego apartamentu w cenie wynajmu – wokół osiedla wszystko płatne, choć na szczęście dość blisko (ok 200 – 300m) od kwatery udało się nam znaleźć darmowy postój.

  – Wir haben einen (Gratis)Parkplatz an der Straße gefunden. Eigentlich sollte bei der Fülle an Parkmöglichkeiten (am & vorm Wohnkomplex) ein Parkplatz bei der Wohnung dabei sein.
  – Nach einer kurzen Eingewöhnungsphase haben wir uns eigentlich ganz gut in der Wohnung gefühlt.
  – Die Wohnung ist mit vielen Möbeln eingerichtet. Das Bad ist relativ groß – und hat auch eine funktionierende Waschmaschine (inkl. Waschtab). Die Küche könnte ein wenig besser ausgestattet sein, wenn man wirklich was kochen will.
  
  What could be improved: – Die Kommunikation war schon sehr mühsam. Keine Ahnung, ob es an Booking.com lag oder am Vermieter, aber es war sehr umständlich, die geschickten Informationen (nur auf Polnisch) auf Englisch oder auf Deutsch zu übersetzen. Somit war es auch eine Herausforderung, überhaupt mal in den Wohnkomplex und dann die Wohnung zu gelangen. Eine Bitte, die Informationen doch auf Englisch zur Verfügung zu stellen, wurde gekonnt ignoriert.
  – Der vordere Teil der Wohnung (Küche & Esstisch) ist sehr finster und ungelüftet, weil es nur die Balkontüre nach außen (im Wohn- und Schlafbereich) gibt.
  – Keine Möbel am Balkon. Da stand nur der Wischmop.

  The apartament is clean with new furnishings. It is also in a good location with easy access to all the main points of interest in Lodz.
  
  What could be improved: Everything seemed very basic, kitchen not equiped well enough for basic cooking. No shampoo/shower gel/ washing powder etc
  Poor communication with the owner re parking. Owner did not give us any info on how we can drive into the complex (not to mention parking there, even for the purpose of unpacking your vehicle). Whilst it is understandable that there is no designated parking space, there is plenty of room to park on the curb. We needed to ask neighbours for advice on this. If you drive a decent car, you do not want to leave it on Gdanska street overnight. The owner did not seem to understand that.
