East Side Apartments Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to East Side Apartments on Wschodnia Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you, and this spot in Śródmieście really delivers on that front.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Łódź at all. You’re right in the heart of the city center, which means you can walk to most of the good stuff – Piotrkowska Street with all its cafes and bars is just a short stroll away. I mean, staying in Śródmieście is smart anyway since it’s where everything happens, but being on Wschodnia specifically puts you close enough to the action without dealing with the weekend noise from the main drag. The apartments themselves feel more like… well, actual apartments than hotel rooms, which I really appreciated. There’s this lived-in quality that makes you feel less like a tourist passing through and more like you’re staying at a friend’s place. The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped too – I actually cooked a few meals instead of eating out every night, which honestly saved me a bunch of money.

What really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the place. Check-in was smooth, and they gave me these local tips that you definitely won’t find in guidebooks – like which tram stops to avoid during rush hour and where to get the best pierogi nearby (spoiler: it’s not where you’d expect). The building itself has this nice old-world Polish charm without feeling outdated, if that makes sense. You can tell they’ve renovated thoughtfully rather than just slapping on cheap updates. I stayed during late spring, and the windows actually open properly – sounds silly, but after staying in places with those terrible sealed windows, it was refreshing to get some real air circulation. The WiFi was solid throughout my stay, which matters when you’re trying to plan day trips or just catch up on work. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of the city, but they sorted that out for me without any hassle.

Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or anything like that, but that 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s one of those places that just works – everything functions properly, it’s clean, the location is spot-on for exploring Łódź, and the price point feels fair for what you get. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend most of my time out exploring rather than lounging around the hotel. Sometimes you just want a comfortable, well-located base that doesn’t eat up half your travel budget, and East Side Apartments nails that brief perfectly.

  • Great value for money! – Isabelle from United Kingdom – January 16, 2024 (8/10)

Great space, all the facilities were clean and had pretty much everything you could need. You felt very safe as the door was heavily secure too!

What could be improved: Only thing I would say, is there was no large towels to use in the bathroom. Only 2 small hand towels so it would be good to have some bath towels accessible when using the shower.

  • Exceptional – Dee from United Kingdom – June 11, 2023 (10/10)

Great location and great cozy apartment with all you need!

  • Next time we are here again if it is vacant – Evgeny from Israel – April 18, 2023 (10/10)

We stayed for more than a week. It was very clean, very warm and cozy. The property owner replied to all our questions in a timely manner. The location is very close to the Petrowskaya street, so we could have a walk everyday. 20-30 mins walk to Manufactura or 7-10 mins drive. Perfect stay for a couple or a couple with a kid.

What could be improved: There is no free parking lot BUT there is a building block next to this one and it has free parking spaces. If you don’t have a big car, then it is perfect as the entrance passage is very narrow for big cars.

  • Cosy studio apartment with great location in the city centre – Majek from United Kingdom – February 27, 2023 (10/10)

Nice and cosy, studio apartment perfect for solo traveler. Big big plus for tea and coffee supplies. Ideal location with the access for Piotrkowska street also short walking distance from Łódź Fabryczna train station.

What could be improved: would benefit from a hairdryer

  • Great place. Too bad check-out at 10am – Nuno from Portugal – November 21, 2022 (9/10)

    Location and decoration

What could be improved: Check-out quite early

  • Nice apartment, in the center of town and in a quiet area. – Margret from Netherlands – September 6, 2022 (9/10)

The apartment was easy to find and is located right behind Piotrkowska street, the most cozy street in Lodz. It is quietly located with a view of the courtyard and park.
The apartment itself was new, nicely furnished and comfortable.
    Price/quality is perfect.
This stay is definitely worth repeating.

What could be improved: Because there was some ambiguity regarding the locker we tried to call the owner, but we got no contact. Only when my brother called with a Polish phone number did someone pick up. Then everything was fine.
