Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. This little hotel sits right in the heart of Łódź’s city center, and I mean *right* in the thick of things. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Piotrkowska Street (which, if you don’t know, is basically the main artery of nightlife and restaurants here), but tucked away enough on Orla that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM.

The building itself has this sort of understated Polish charm – nothing flashy, but clean lines and that practical Eastern European aesthetic that actually grows on you. What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth, no weird hidden fees, and they actually gave useful recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the tourist traps. The rooms are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star, but done thoughtfully. Everything works, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and honestly, the beds are more comfortable than some 4-star places I’ve stayed at in Warsaw. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed – clearly someone thought about how real people actually use hotel bathrooms instead of just making them look pretty in photos.

Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Łódź – you’re getting authentic Polish city life without the Prague or Krakow price tags and crowds. The neighborhood has this lived-in feeling where you’ll see locals walking their dogs in the morning and old guys playing chess in the small parks. There’s a decent tram connection right nearby (honestly, Łódź’s tram system is pretty reliable once you figure it out), and if you’re into that whole industrial heritage thing, you’re perfectly positioned to explore the old textile district. The hotel’s 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was doing more than just a quick weekend trip and wanted somewhere that felt more like a base than just a place to crash.

  Dość mały pokój z antresolą, pod nią łazienka, dlatego trzeba uważać na głowę wchodząc do pokoju. W środku dość chłodno, jak to w starych kamienicach, ale akurat były upały, więc dla nas na plus. Pokój mały, na jedną noc się sprawdził. Do dyspozycji gości wspólny aneks kuchenny. Okolica cicha, blisko galeria handlowa, przy ulicy wolne miejsca parkingowe, ale płatne w tygodniu.

  Doskonała lokalizacja, bezpośrednie sąsiedztwo Galerii Łódzkiej, rzut beretem do Piotrowskiej oraz bezpośrednia bliskość przystanków kounikacji miejskiej; 10 minut spaceru do dworca Fabrycznego.

  What could be improved: Nie dające się zamknąć drzwi od pokoju. Nie mogę ocenić śniadania ponieważ się nie zrozumieliśmy – przez co nie było czasu na zjedzenie.

  Welp, the place was okay for a one-night, last minute stay.
  The host is very nice and tries her best to make guests comfortable but the room itself is small, the bed wasn't comfortable and the sheets had some old stains although washed.
  The room was with the tiny bathroom/shower which was good.
  The wifi was very slow, sometimes disappearing at all.
  Overall okay for one night.
