I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Diasfera Prestige by LookAp on Kilińskiego street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the ratings tell the real story, and that 9.5 is absolutely earned.

The thing about this part of Łódź is that it’s got this perfect balance – you’re close enough to the action on Piotrkowska (about a 15-minute walk) but far enough away that you’re not dealing with weekend party noise. Kilińskiego itself is one of those streets that feels authentically Polish without being touristy, if that makes sense. There’s a decent bakery two blocks down where locals actually go, and honestly, that tells you something about a neighborhood. The hotel sits in this renovated building that – well, let me put it this way – someone clearly cared about getting the details right. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels more expensive than it actually is, with these gorgeous high ceilings that you don’t expect in a mid-range place.

What really got me was how the staff just… knew things. I mean, when I asked about getting to the Manufaktura shopping center, the front desk guy didn’t just give me directions – he mentioned which tram to take, warned me about construction on one route, and suggested I grab lunch at this spot inside that “the tourists don’t usually find.” That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t fake. The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious for European standards, and I actually slept well, which doesn’t always happen when you’re staying somewhere new. The beds are proper firm (none of that saggy mattress nonsense), and the bathrooms are updated without being flashy about it. There’s good water pressure too – honestly, after a day of walking around Łódź’s fantastic but endless streets, that hot shower hits different. Parking was straightforward, which anyone who’s driven in Polish city centers will appreciate. They’ve got their own lot, so you’re not circling blocks looking for a spot or feeding meters every two hours.

Here’s what I think makes this place work: it’s clearly run by people who understand that travelers want reliability without paying luxury prices. The WiFi actually works throughout the building, breakfast has local options alongside the standard European hotel fare, and check-in was efficient without feeling rushed. I stayed during what I’d guess was a pretty busy period (there was some kind of festival happening downtown), but the place never felt chaotic or understaffed. Look, Łódź isn’t Warsaw or Krakow – it doesn’t have the same tourism infrastructure, which is actually part of its charm. But that also means when you find a place that gets hospitality right, it stands out even more. If you’re planning to explore the city’s incredible street art scene or just want a solid base for day trips around the region, this is exactly the kind of place where you’ll sleep well and leave feeling like you got good value for your money.

  A cosy apartment in a new building, nice and new.
  If longing for a cold beer after whole day's adventures, there is a 24/7 grocery across the street (worth visiting just for a culture shock, even).
  Not far for the Piotrkowska street. To other side, there is a nice park for walking a dog (if you have one), full of squirrels.
  
  What could be improved: Car parking is a bit DIY, free, but on street, or off it. Follow the locals, and you may easily be able to park just under apartment windows on a dirt area between houses.
  Surrounding area feels a bit "developing", but with buildings like this seems improving, and considerably safe.

  The place was absolutely great, has all facilities and is in a superb location. Couldn't have asked for a nicer apartment to spend the night.
  
  What could be improved: Not the fault of the host, but on our last night there was a massive (and traumatic) fight in the same building as ours between a woman and a man. They were screaming all night and it sounded like absolute chaos. It went on for hours and it got really crazy, to the point we wondered if we were in danger. We were awake most of the night.
