Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked up to DeLux5 on Tramwajowa Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in this part of Łódź. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come from keeping your expectations in check.

The thing about this hotel is that it actually gets the basics really right, which honestly counts for a lot when you’re traveling. The rooms are clean – I mean genuinely clean, not just “looks clean until you turn on the lights” clean – and there’s this quiet efficiency to the whole operation that I really appreciated. The staff at check-in knew enough English to help me sort out directions to Piotrkowska Street (which is only about a 15-minute walk, by the way), and they had this laid-back approach that felt refreshing after dealing with some of the stuffier places I’d stayed in Warsaw. The neighborhood itself is pretty typical residential Śródmieście – nothing fancy, but you’re close enough to the action without dealing with weekend noise from the main tourist areas.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to small details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The shower had proper water pressure (trust me, this isn’t guaranteed everywhere in Poland), and the beds were firm enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been sleeping on a marshmallow. There’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving – not always easy to find in this part of the city – and the tram connections are solid if you want to explore beyond the center. I mean, you’re literally on Tramwajowa, so you can guess how that works out. The breakfast was simple but fresh, none of that sad continental stuff that’s been sitting under heat lamps for hours. Actually, the coffee was surprisingly good – I ended up having an extra cup most mornings, which says something since I’m usually pretty picky about that. Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with luxury amenities or Instagram-worthy lobby shots, but sometimes what you want is just a comfortable base where everything works like it should. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that consistently does what it promises without any drama or unpleasant surprises.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Lodz at least two months ahead for major events like Camerimage Festival, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near cultural attractions.

  the location is excellent, near bus stations and tram station. there are 3 stores within a 2-3 minute walk. the accommodation had everything you need, from cutlery to hair dryer. It was also very clean and very modern.
  
  What could be improved: the walls are too thin and you can hear the neighbors from upstairs and the one next door walking and you have a feeling like they're constantly moving furniture. You should also have a sleep mask if you don't want to get up with the sun because there are no blinds on the windows and the sun rises on the side where the windows are so its shining directly in your eyes

  Fine location. Parks, shops and a train station are all within walking distance. Quite a reasonable price.
  
  What could be improved: No cutlery. Each time a tram was passing by, it felt like the earthquake had started. The room was quite ok, but the street was a bit noisy.

  Excellent location, directly in the center, just opposite a tram stop. Very nice and clean apartment with private bathroom, heating and TV. Internet was reliable and fast. Check-in is automatic, so you can arrive any time, even late in the night.

  The apartment is very spacious and clean. Nice facilities overall.

  – The tram on the street just outside the apartment can be noisy (especially because the trams are turning very close to where the apartment is located).

  Small, cosy place, not far from the centre of Lodz.
  Restaurants and shops nearby, which was convenient. All necessities were available.
  
  What could be improved: The bed should be changed as it's old and not so comfortable. Be prepared for a cold shower. The boiler is tiny, so there is only enough hot water for one person.
