DarkHouse Gold Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to DarkHouse Gold on Kilińskiego Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the name. But you know what? This little 3-star spot in Śródmieście actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself has this interesting mix of old Łódź architecture with some modern touches, and once you’re inside, it feels much more polished than you’d guess from the street.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually care about getting the details right. I mean, check-in was smooth (no standing around for twenty minutes like some places), and they knew the neighborhood well enough to point me toward the good coffee shops on Piotrkowska – not just the touristy ones everyone mentions. The room was clean and honestly pretty comfortable for what you’re paying. Nothing fancy, but the bed was solid, the shower had decent water pressure, and there’s actually enough space to spread out your stuff without everything ending up on the floor. The Wi-Fi worked properly too, which… well, you never know these days.
Location-wise, you’re right in the heart of things without being stuck in the chaos. Śródmieście puts you walking distance from most of what you’ll want to see in Łódź, and I found myself just wandering around the area in the evenings – there’s something nice about being able to duck into a local bar or grab dinner without having to plan transportation. The tram connections are solid if you need to get around the city, and honestly, parking wasn’t the nightmare I was expecting (though I’d still recommend asking about it when you book). The neighborhood gets a bit quiet after business hours, which worked for me since I actually wanted to sleep, but if you’re looking for non-stop nightlife right outside your door, this might feel a little tame. The 7.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but DarkHouse Gold delivers on what it promises without any major disappointments. For a solid, unpretentious place to stay while you explore Łódź, it hits that sweet spot where you feel like you’re getting good value without sacrificing the basics that actually matter.

Fair – Yağız from Poland – August 13, 2025 (5/10)
Good location
Good location. Bed and pillows uncomfortable – Adam from United Kingdom – May 11, 2025 (5/10)
Good location and nice decor.
What could be improved: Pillows were the worst I’ve ever experienced. The host wasn’t the most helpful. I would ask questions and be ignored so be aware of that.Pros and cons – Monika from Poland – January 5, 2025 (5/10)
very convenient location, quiet, lighted entrance gate
What could be improved: no soap in the toilet, water from the shower spreads around the room, there was nothing to wipe it off, water warm but not hotWonderful – Natalya from Ukraine – November 16, 2024 (9/10)
Comfortable place, clear recommendations as for arrival, close enough to both the transport I used and the place I visited. There was coffee and tea waiting. Nobody bothered.
What could be improved: The mattress too hard for my back issues, temperature fell down during my stay from 22 degrees C (which was too hot for me) to 18 (that was great) and later to 13 (a bit chilly even for me). Didn't take the sleepers (my bad) but they are absolutely nassessary on the cold stone floor, the socks were not enough.Very Good – Artur from Ukraine – September 3, 2024 (8/10)
This place is far enough from the city centre so you do not hear the sound of whole night partying which is good. Despite it looks like (and most likely used) as a one night stand place, it is also good to spend a night if you are visiting the city.
What could be improved: The sound isolation does not exist at all. Walls are like curtains and you can hear everything around. No A/C so you need to have your window open.Exceptional – Wesolowski from Poland – September 3, 2024 (10/10)
What could be improved: Lack of hand-wash
Disappointing – Семченко from Poland – February 20, 2024 (4/10)
Cozy apartment for a couple
What could be improved: The floor is very cold in the toilet and bathroom. There was no hot water in the bath. The water was going out of the shower to the room.
They forgot to leave the key in the key box. We booked the parking, but they did let us move in at first, so we have to search another, but then finally let us in.
The placement of the apartment is in old buildings, this looks even scary to leave there.Ok for a one night stay – Mikołaj from United Kingdom – November 21, 2023 (8/10)
Price and reasonable location.
What could be improved: No heating in toilet room, no extractor so when you have a shower the steam is all over place. There could be a bath mat when you walk out from the shower. The radiator during the day and night when heats up make a noise which woke us up few times.not comfortable and not clean – Esra from Turkey – May 12, 2023 (1/10)
safe place
What could be improved: dirty sheets, dirty room, there is no shampoo or soap, old buildings. there is only two towels.Wonderful – Mateusz from Poland – March 9, 2023 (9/10)
Everything agreed with description, beautiful room, a bit cold bathroom.
What could be improved: Surrounding – old buildings.
