Cozy Corner Overview
I’ll be honest – I almost walked right past Cozy Corner the first time I was looking for it on Mickiewicza. The entrance is sort of tucked away at number 4a, and you know what? That actually turned out to be one of my favorite things about this place. While everyone’s rushing past on one of Łódź’s main arteries, you slip into what feels like a completely different world.
The thing that struck me immediately was how quiet it gets once you’re inside. I mean, Mickiewicza can get pretty busy with trams and foot traffic, especially during the day when people are heading to and from the university area, but somehow none of that chaos makes it through these walls. The owner – and I’m pretty sure it’s family-run because the same woman checked me in both times I stayed – actually mentioned they’d put extra effort into soundproofing. Smart move, because you get all the benefits of being centrally located without feeling like you’re sleeping next to a main road.
What really won me over, though, was the attention to those little details that most 3-star places just skip. The coffee in the morning is actually good coffee, not that generic hotel stuff that tastes like burnt water. The towels are thick and smell like they were line-dried (which honestly might be the case). And there’s this corner – hence the name, I guess – in the common area where they’ve set up these ridiculously comfortable chairs next to a window that looks out onto a small courtyard. I ended up spending way more time there than I planned, just reading and people-watching. The wifi reaches there too, which you’d think would be obvious but isn’t always the case in older buildings like this one.
Location-wise, you’re basically in the heart of everything without being right on top of the tourist crowds. Piotrkowska Street is maybe a 10-minute walk, which means you can easily hit the restaurants and bars but still come back to somewhere that feels residential and calm. The tram connections are solid – there’s a stop practically at your doorstep that’ll get you to Manufaktura or the train station without any fuss. I also discovered this little bakery about two blocks away that opens early and makes these incredible zapiekanki. The hotel doesn’t do breakfast (well, just coffee and some basic pastries), but honestly, you’re better off exploring the neighborhood anyway.
The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, though not huge – but that’s pretty standard for this part of the city where every square meter counts. What impressed me was that everything worked. The shower had proper pressure, the heating actually heated, the key card didn’t randomly stop working halfway through my stay. Sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how often those things go wrong. The woman at reception also gave me genuinely useful local recommendations, not just the typical tourist spots. She pointed me toward this fantastic pierogi place that I never would have found otherwise, tucked away on a side street that doesn’t even show up on most maps.

Przytulne i czyste mieszkanko 🙂 – Nitka99 from Poland – May 11, 2025 (10/10)
Mieszkanie czyste, super umeblowane i wyposażone.
