I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Cotton House on Żwirki street, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked into this quiet residential area of Łódź that feels more like a neighborhood where locals actually live than a tourist zone, you know? But man, once you step inside, it’s like entering a completely different world.

The thing about this place is that it actually feels like someone put real thought into the design instead of just slapping together another generic hotel. The lobby has this warm, textile-inspired aesthetic (cotton, get it?) that pays homage to Łódź’s industrial heritage without being heavy-handed about it. I mean, this city was basically Poland’s Manchester back in the day, so the cotton theme makes perfect sense. The 4-star rating is well-deserved – everything feels polished but not pretentious, if that makes sense. What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the rooms. The lighting is actually good enough to read by (why is this so rare in hotels?), and the beds are properly comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty. The bathrooms have decent water pressure too, which – trust me after traveling around Poland – you shouldn’t take for granted.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk from the main drag of Piotrkowska Street, but honestly, I preferred being slightly removed from all that chaos. The neighborhood is quiet enough that you’ll actually sleep well, but you’re not stranded in the middle of nowhere either. There’s a decent grocery store just a few blocks away, and the tram connections are solid if you want to explore the city center or check out the famous Manufaktura complex. Parking was surprisingly easy – not something I expected in a city this size. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well, too. When I asked about getting to the EC1 science center, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a generic map but actually explained which tram to take and warned me about the construction on one of the streets.

What pushes Cotton House into that 9.5 rating territory is honestly just how smoothly everything runs. Check-in was quick, the WiFi actually works throughout the building, and housekeeping doesn’t wake you up at 7 AM (looking at you, every other hotel I’ve stayed at). The breakfast – well, it’s not going to change your life, but it’s fresh and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying a few days. They do a decent coffee too, which in Poland is saying something since the coffee culture here is getting pretty serious. If you’re planning to visit Łódź, this is honestly where I’d stay again. It’s one of those places where you can tell the owners actually care about the guest experience rather than just maximizing occupancy rates.

  Great location, private and gated. It allowed dogs and parking available in a secure car park. The apartment was spacious, clean. Great large bathroom. Air conditioning in all rooms. Balcony included.

  This is not the first time that we use this place. The stuff is always friendly. And there is enough paid parking space. The room is equipped well and the beds are comfortable.
