Two minutes and forty-seven seconds from the front door to the main entrance of the shopping center, assuming you don’t get distracted by the street art along the way (which you probably will). What I really appreciated was how quiet Zgierska gets in the evenings. During the day there’s a bit of foot traffic from people heading to Manufaktura, but after 9 PM it’s surprisingly peaceful for being so central. The apartment itself has this lived-in charm – think mismatched furniture that somehow works perfectly together, decent Wi-Fi that didn’t cut out during my video calls, and a kitchen that’s small but functional enough to make proper coffee in the morning. The bathroom’s compact but clean, and honestly, the shower pressure was better than some four-star hotels I’ve stayed at.

I’ll be straight with you though – if you’re expecting luxury, this isn’t it. The building’s got character (read: it’s old), and you’ll hear your neighbors occasionally, especially if someone’s dragging luggage up the stairs late at night. But that 9.1 rating makes total sense once you spend a night there. The owner clearly cares about the place – there were fresh towels, the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with a sore back, and little touches like having actual hangers in the wardrobe instead of those useless wire things. What really sold me was the convenience factor. You can grab groceries at the Biedronka around the corner, there’s a decent pierogi place about five minutes away on foot, and if you need to catch a tram or bus, the stops are right there. Plus, if you’re into Łódź’s whole post-industrial vibe, staying here puts you in the perfect spot to explore the converted factories and art spaces without having to trek across the city. It’s one of those places where you settle in quickly and start feeling like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.
