When I checked in, the staff seemed genuinely pleased to see guests (always a good sign), and they knew the neighborhood well enough to point me toward this fantastic little pierogi place that wasn’t in any guidebook.

The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star – clean, comfortable beds that don’t leave you with a backache, and honestly, the soundproofing is better than I anticipated. Łódź can get a bit lively on weekend nights, but I slept fine even with my room facing the street. What really caught my attention was how they’ve managed to squeeze in these thoughtful touches – decent WiFi that actually works, enough outlets near the bed (thank you!), and windows that open properly for fresh air. The bathrooms are compact but functional, with hot water that stays hot and towels that feel like they’ve been properly washed, not just aired out.

Here’s the thing about this place – it’s not trying to be something it’s not. The 8.5 rating makes sense because they nail the basics really well. You’re paying for a good night’s sleep in a neighborhood that’s walkable and interesting, not for marble lobbies or fancy spa treatments. I found myself using it as a perfect base for exploring the city – Piotrkowska Street is an easy stroll away, and if you’re into the whole industrial heritage thing, you’re surrounded by converted factory spaces that house everything from art galleries to craft breweries. The breakfast (when I bothered to wake up for it) was simple but fresh, with enough variety to keep you happy for a few days.

What I really appreciated was the practical stuff that sometimes gets overlooked. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived late, there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, and the front desk actually had useful local maps instead of just tourist brochures. The whole area feels safe to walk around, even at night – lots of people out and about, good lighting, that sort of thing. Sure, it’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but sometimes you just want somewhere reliable and comfortable where you can drop your bags and get on with exploring. This place delivers on that promise without any fuss or pretense.
