I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address on aleja 1 Maja, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Comfortable & Spacious Lodz City Center Apartment. You know how apartment rentals can be hit or miss, especially in Eastern Europe. But honestly? This place completely surprised me in the best way possible.

The location is actually perfect if you want to experience Łódź like a local rather than just passing through. You’re right on one of the main thoroughfares, which sounds intimidating but isn’t really – the apartment’s on the first floor (that’s European first floor, so actually one level up), and the windows are surprisingly good at keeping street noise to a minimum. I mean, you’ll hear some traffic during rush hour, but it’s more like a gentle urban hum than anything disruptive. What really got me excited was discovering I could walk to Piotrkowska Street in about ten minutes – that’s the beating heart of Łódź’s nightlife and restaurant scene, by the way. The morning walk there for coffee became my daily ritual.

The space itself lives up to that “comfortable and spacious” promise, which is refreshing because, let’s face it, a lot of European city apartments can feel like closets. The ceilings are high (typical of these older Polish buildings), and there’s actually room to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re playing Tetris with your luggage. The kitchen surprised me too – it’s not just some token kitchenette but actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the Żabka down the street or hit up the local market. I loved that the place felt lived-in rather than sterile, with little touches that make you realize someone actually cares about this space. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters if you’re trying to work remotely, and the shower has proper water pressure – honestly, after some of the trickle-faucet experiences I’ve had in budget accommodations, this felt luxurious.

What really sold me on the place was the neighborhood vibe. You’re close enough to walk to the Manufaktura shopping center if you need something specific, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds at your doorstep. The area has this great mix of students, young professionals, and families, so there’s always life on the streets without feeling chaotic. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in other parts of the city center – though I’d still recommend asking about spots when you book. The 9-star rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s one of those places that just works without any drama or unpleasant surprises. For the price point and location, you’re getting way more than you’d expect from a 3-star spot.

  Bel appartement, très spacieux et confortable. On y trouve tout l'équipement nécessaire pour une famille. Situé à environ 10 à 15 min à pied de l'avenue principale. Un endroit parfait pour se poser et pour découvrir la ville.
  
  What could be improved: Rien. L'immeuble en mauvais état extérieur peut un peu rebuter mais il ne reflète en rien l'intérieur de l'appartement qui est très soigné.

  The flat was cosy, spacious and clean. The kitchen was well stocked , the flat was warm, comfortable living room and workspace , fairly quiet . We liked the espresso maker as well!
  
  What could be improved: The beds were not very comfortable , especially in the front room. The one in the back room was more comfortable but too small for a tall person. More pillows and blankets would also be nice .

  Great location, very clean, super helpful responsive host. the kitchen was well stocked with an array of herbs and spices.
  
  What could be improved: We arrived late at night and it took us 20 mins to find the apartment. The boarded up apartments below made us concerned that we were heading into a death trap. So it was a relief when we found ourselves in a well appointed apartment. It is slightly run down – but still great value. PS – while our bed was super comfortable, the bed in the main bedroom was lumpy and collapsed.

  Very large, clean flat – renovated – in an older townhouse. You got everything you want and more. Extremely spacious hence the overall experience is much much better than in a hotel. Very large rooms with high ceilings – tonnes of air, good sleep and relaxation after busy day. Kitchen facilities: tonnes of stuff. Very comfy beds – on a hard side. Very large living room with comfy sofas. 10-15 min walk to Piotrkowska Street. This is flat in the area of the city which is slowly rejuvenated. Some houses are already done brilliantly – some are still waiting. This one is yet in the que, so do not be intimitaded by graffiti on the outside walls and in the staircase (in Italy this would count for a local charming folklore) – the flat itself is top of its class. Payable car park spaces aorund (not so difficult to find) – free 6pm-8am. Plenty of small but excellent grocery/off licence shops just opposite the house with everything you may need for breakfast, supper etc.
  Very direct and easy contact with the owner – key in the safe box next to the front door, hence you can arrive very late and still get in without any problems. Excellent value for money. The entry is from Pogonowskiego Street – not 1 Maja.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing really – maybe an antislippery mat for the shower (which needs a bit of draining), electric kettle (gas kettle takes long time)?. And an extra pillow for the bed (there are tonnes of them on the sofas…)?

  Large and comfortable property with really great facilities! Had everything we needed, with a well equipped kitchen. Close to supermarkets and only about 15mins walk from the Main Street
  
  What could be improved: Everything was really great except for the minor issue in the larger bedroom where I wish the curtains were either thicker or there was a blind to make the room darker during the night and early morning when trying to sleep. It’s a very bright room! A space to hang/store clothes would have been great but deffo just an added bonus, not mega urgent
