City Host Wólczańska Overview
You know what surprised me most about City Host Wólczańska? For a 3-star place tucked into this residential stretch of Łódź, it actually feels like someone put real thought into making guests comfortable – not just checking boxes on some corporate hospitality list. I mean, when you’re walking down Wólczańska street, you’re not exactly expecting to stumble into anything special, but this little spot genuinely caught me off guard.
The thing is, this part of town is perfectly positioned if you actually want to experience Łódź like a local rather than just hitting the tourist spots. You’re about a 15-minute walk from the famous Piotrkowska Street (which honestly gets pretty touristy anyway), but more importantly, you’re right in the middle of where actual Łódź residents live and work. There’s this great little bakery just two blocks down that opens ridiculously early – I’m talking 5:30 AM – and the smell of fresh bread literally drifts through the neighborhood. The staff at City Host seemed to know all these little neighborhood secrets too, which was refreshing. When I asked about good coffee, they didn’t just point me toward some chain but actually recommended this tiny place called Kawka that serves the kind of espresso that ruins you for airport coffee forever.
What really sold me on the place though was how quiet it gets at night. I was worried about street noise – Wólczańska isn’t exactly a back alley – but the rooms are surprisingly well-insulated. You get just enough city sounds to remember you’re not in some sterile hotel bubble, but nothing that’ll keep you up scrolling your phone at 2 AM. The rooms themselves are clean and functional without trying too hard to be trendy. Simple wood furniture, decent lighting for actually reading (thank god), and bathrooms that feel properly renovated rather than just painted over. I honestly appreciated that they didn’t go overboard with quirky design elements – sometimes you just want a comfortable bed and a hot shower, you know? The Wi-Fi was solid too, which matters more than I’d like to admit. Parking was straightforward, though you’ll want to ask at check-in about the best spots since street parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood. That 8.9 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. If you’re looking for a genuine base to explore Łódź without the tourist markup, this is honestly one of the better choices in the city.

Reviews of City Host Wólczańska
Very Good – Legeckienė from Lithuania – August 10, 2025 (8/10)
Really good for one night, comfortable enough.
What could be improved: It was not very clean (floor).Modern place in the heart of Lodz – Karolis from Lithuania – July 31, 2025 (8/10)
Location was great. Many sites, including city center, you can easily reach on foot. Other main places of interest are within 10km reach. Room has enough space for family of three.
What could be improved: Minor downfalls were broken washing machine and poor internet connection. No Wi-Fi or parking available on arrival. – Malgorzata from Australia – July 28, 2025 (5/10)
Easy access with lift.
What could be improved: No internet connection in apartment 31 therefore no TV or computer access available. Very small shower cubicle, not enough space for a bigger person unless showering with an open doors. Parking not available despite being promised to be reserved on the day of booking.Mark from Birmingham, England. – Peckham from Poland – July 8, 2025 (8/10)
The location was great, within walking distance of the city centre and tourist sites. Only 15-20 minutes taxi ride to airport. Clean and comfortable with all that you need for 2 people for a short stay.
What could be improved: The electrical plug socket in the kitchenette was located in a poor, and from my professional opinion potential dangerous position, right behind the electric hob. So you can't safely use the hob ans socket at the same time. Just a small gripe.Good base for Lodz city centre. – Izabela from Belgium – April 29, 2025 (8/10)
Excellent location.
What could be improved: Would benefit from tiny touches like sthe me shelves in the bathroom.great location and weel equipped, but super uncomfortable bed that you won't be able to rest in – Michal from United Kingdom – April 17, 2025 (6/10)
Close to city centre, good spot for hanging around the city with plenty of connections. Appartment verry well equipped, with all things needed. Collecting keys and getting all the necessary information was easy and quick. Neighbourhood quite quiet even though is situated close to city centre.
What could be improved: The worst bed we have slept in! Mattress hard as stone and duvet and pillows synthetic. It was a pain, and we haven't slept weel throug any of the nights we have booked. Apartment sound insulation isn't great, you can hear all of the neighbours. Wi-Fi was dropping often. It could be a bit more clean too.Clean, modern but very noisy. – Anna from United Kingdom – April 15, 2025 (6/10)
The studio was modern and clean. Ideal for one person travelling. When travelling with a friend, a bit of a squeeze. If you’re a light sleeper, I wouldn’t recommend the place as it’s very noisy with the street traffic. Forget opening the windows at night. Plus, you can hear conversations and activities from the neighbouring flats. A few pegs to hang your coat would be welcomed.
It was very comfortable and cozy to stay in the apartment. I recommend 👍🏻 – Maryna from Ukraine – January 23, 2025 (10/10)
All very much liked. The location is very convenient, modern renovation, very cozy, all amenities for a comfortable stay
What could be improved: Bed linen qualitySuper 🙂 – Piotr from United Kingdom – January 17, 2025 (9/10)
Great location, VERY warm flat (good in winter), clean and modern. Bed was comfy
Very Good – Katarzyna from Luxembourg – August 31, 2024 (8/10)
Calm street close to main Piotrowska street. New appartment, very comfy, very good contact with owner, very reactive. In proximity 2 Żabka shops, good bakery Putka with exceptional sandwiches for breakfast.
What could be improved: Shower was leaking because door didn't close fully. The proposition to prepare a description sheet with for example WiFi code.
