The lobby isn’t trying too hard to impress, which I mean… that’s refreshing these days.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their city. When I asked about getting around, they didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map – they actually sketched out which tram lines would get me to Manufaktura fastest and warned me that the construction near Piotrkowska can slow things down in the afternoons. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place, nothing fancy but everything works properly (the shower pressure was actually decent, which is more than I can say for some 4-star places I’ve stayed in). The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night, and honestly, the soundproofing is better than you might think for a building this old – I could barely hear the street noise, even though Rewolucji can get a bit busy during rush hour.

Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though – it just feels authentic to Łódź. You’re right in Śródmieście, so you can walk to most of the interesting spots without dealing with taxis or figuring out the tram system (though the trams here are pretty reliable, to be fair). I found myself grabbing coffee at this little place around the corner that the front desk guy recommended, and it became my morning routine. The hotel itself maintains that balance between being professional and feeling personal – like, they remember your name at check-in, but they’re not hovering over you constantly. Parking was easier than I expected too, which if you’ve ever tried to park in the center of a Polish city, you know that’s no small thing. With an 8.9 rating, clearly other people have figured out what I did – this isn’t the flashiest place you’ll ever stay, but it’s the kind of spot where everything just works the way it should, the price makes sense, and you leave feeling like you actually experienced the city rather than just passing through it.

  What could be improved: Łazienka za kotarą 🙁 Rozumiem zamysł estetyczny, jednak była ona mało komfortowa/praktyczna
  Brak naczyń nadających się do piekarnika, nad czym ubolewałam. Brakowało jednak również szpatułki, z ciężkim sercem używałam do gotowania metalowej łyżki, poza tym kuchnia świetnie wyposażona. Problemy również z TV, nie mogłam z niego korzystać ze względu na brak możliwości połączenia z internetem.

  What could be improved: We had a friend in other room, so if she wanted to go to toilet she had to come through our room and do her business while we can hear her. Bathtub is nice, but you can’t take a shower there without spilling water all over the floor. No microwave. No proper ventilation in the kitchen
