Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to City Host Legionów on Legionów Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in this part of Łódź. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots end up surprising you. This little hotel sits right in the heart of the city, and I mean that literally – you’re walking distance from Piotrkowska Street (which, if you don’t know, is basically the main artery of nightlife and shopping here). The building itself has that clean, modern vibe without trying too hard, if that makes sense.

What actually won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth, no weird bureaucratic nonsense, and the guy at reception knew his stuff about the neighborhood. My room was… well, it was exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star – clean sheets that smelled fresh, decent Wi-Fi that didn’t cut out every five minutes, and a bathroom that wasn’t cramped. Nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about either. The walls are thick enough that I didn’t hear my neighbors (always a win in my book), and the bed was actually comfortable – firmer than those squishy hotel mattresses that leave you feeling like you slept in a marshmallow.

Here’s the thing about staying on Legionów – you’re positioned really well for exploring Łódź without being stuck in the touristy bubble. I could walk to Manufaktura shopping center in about fifteen minutes, hit up the old factory district, or just wander toward the city center whenever I felt like it. The tram stops are close by, which honestly makes getting around so much easier than dealing with parking downtown. Speaking of which, the hotel has its own parking situation sorted, which saved me the headache of circling blocks looking for a spot. The breakfast was decent – nothing that’ll blow your mind, but fresh bread, good coffee, and enough variety that you won’t feel ripped off. I mean, for the price point, you’re getting solid value here. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing the basics really well. If you’re looking for marble lobbies and rooftop pools, keep looking. But if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring Łódź without breaking the bank, this place delivers.
