I’ll be honest – when I first booked Centrum 1 Łódź 7 Próchnika 21, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. It sounds more like a postal address than a hotel, which, well, it sort of is. But you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward places surprise you the most.

This 3-star spot sits right in Śródmieście, and I mean properly in the heart of things. Walking out the front door on Próchnika Street, you’re basically surrounded by the energy that makes Łódź so interesting these days. The area has this great mix of old industrial architecture – you can still feel the textile history in the air – and newer cafes and shops that have moved into the converted spaces. I actually loved how quiet it gets in the evenings here compared to some of the busier hotel districts, but you’re still close enough to hear the distant hum of Piotrkowska Street when the weekend crowd gets going.

The hotel itself has that clean, no-nonsense approach that I’ve come to appreciate more as I get older. The rooms aren’t trying to win any design awards, but honestly, everything works exactly as it should. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure – something you learn to check after staying in too many places where the shower feels like a gentle mist. What struck me most was how genuinely helpful the staff were, not in that over-rehearsed way some places do, but like they actually wanted to make sure I had what I needed. When I asked about parking, they didn’t just point me toward some expensive garage but told me about the street parking situation and when it’s easier to find spots.

The thing about this part of Łódź is that it’s perfectly positioned for actually experiencing the city rather than just passing through it. You can walk to the main shopping areas without breaking a sweat, but you’re also close enough to some of the more interesting converted factory spaces that give you a real sense of what this place used to be and where it’s heading. I ended up spending more time just wandering the neighborhood than I’d planned, discovering these little courtyards and side streets that you’d never find if you were staying somewhere more touristy. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually recommend rather than just where tour groups get dropped off. For the price point and the 8-out-of-10 rating it’s earned, I can see why – it’s the kind of place that does exactly what it promises without any fuss or pretense.

  Czysto, schludnie w pokoju i całym mieszkaniu.
  
  What could be improved: Klatka schodowa nadaje się do kapitalnego remontu, widok na obskurne podwórko.
  Łóżko 2-osobowe, ale nie zaznaczone, że trzeba rozłożyć kanapę, aby powstało 2-osobowe…..

  What could be improved: A small friendly piece of advice: the room really lacks a kitchen extractor fan. While cooking (for example, boiling chicken fillet for about 40 minutes), there's a high risk of a short circuit due to the amount of condensation settling on the electronics (like the microwave). But this is just a suggestion…

  Bardzo dobra lokalizacja, w pokoju podstawowe wyposażenie, które spełnia wszelkie wymagania na krótki pobyt – łóżko, szafa, stolik z krzesłami, TV, aneks kuchenny i łazienka.
  
  What could be improved: Brak małych ręczników oraz brak żelu pod prysznic (w ogłoszeniu jako udogodnienie wymieniony jest zestaw kosmetyków). Uciążliwy był też hałas dochodzący z podwórka (bardzo głośna muzyka), ale to przeszkadzało tylko wieczorem i rano jak byliśmy w pokoju.

  Super lokalizacja, czysto co jest dla mnie mega ważne i wygodnie. 😉
  
  What could be improved: Brak półek na kosmetyki, brak oświetlenia nad lustrem, ale to naprawdę mały minus :).

  Widać, że pokój po remoncie, więc to na duży plus. Wszystko co było w opisie było w pokoju na wyposażeniu. Jak na spędzenie jednej nocy było ok.
  
  What could be improved: Niestety pierwsze wrażenie kamienicy-klatki w której mieści się pokój jest tragiczny. To niestety nie leży po stronie właściciela i on wpływu na to nie ma. Jest parking, ciasny ale nie zawsze można liczyć na wolne miejsce postojowe większym autem. Raczej warto poszukać sobie parkingu gdzie indziej.
