I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Boat City Aparts – Dworzec Łódź Fabryczna, I was a bit skeptical about staying in an apartment hotel right by the train station. You know how those areas can be, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location on Narutowicza is perfect if you’re planning to explore Łódź properly – you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Fabryczna station (which is gorgeous, by the way – they really did something special with that renovation), and honestly, being in Śródmieście means you can walk to most of the good stuff without dealing with trams or buses.

The apartments themselves have this sort of modern, no-nonsense vibe that I really appreciated. Nothing fancy, but everything works – and I mean actually works, not like some places where the WiFi cuts out every ten minutes or the shower pressure is pathetic. The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped too, which came in handy since I tend to grab groceries from the Żabka down the street and make coffee in the morning rather than paying hotel prices for everything. What I didn’t expect was how quiet it would be – I mean, you’re near a major train station, but the windows must be decent because I slept fine even with my room facing the street. The check-in process was smooth (they actually answered their phone when I called ahead, which is more than I can say for some places), and the staff seemed to know their stuff about getting around the city.

Look, it’s not going to win any design awards – this is a solid 3-star place that delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. But here’s the thing: if you want to be right in the heart of things without breaking the bank, this works really well. You can walk to Piotrkowska Street in about fifteen minutes, catch trains to Warsaw or Krakow without dragging your luggage across the city, and you’ve got actual grocery stores and decent restaurants within a couple blocks. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place where everything just works smoothly, you sleep well, and you wake up ready to explore rather than dealing with weird quirks or problems. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to use Łódź as a base for day trips or if I had an early train to catch.

  The apartment is excellently located, right at the center, a short distance from Łódź Fabryczna station and near Piotrkowska Street. The cozy atmosphere and well-done lighting add to a pleasant stay. The use of entry codes is convenient and secure.
  
  What could be improved: Regrettably, my experience encountered some difficulties. The instructions provided exclusively in Polish, through both chat and SMS, led to understanding issues, compounded by a lack of responses. The ongoing renovation of the main door, without clear English signage, caused confusion. Variations between the reserved apartment (Superior Apartment V) and the assigned one (Superior Apartment III) were disappointing. Additional problems included excessively short blackout curtains, a noisy nighttime refrigerator, an overly small bathroom sink, and a limited duration of hot water during showers. The lack of clarity on entry and instructions made my arrival uncomfortable and frustrating. I highly recommend providing English instructions along with detailed images to improve the overall guest experience.
