Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Bema Rooms on Bema Street in the Bałuty district, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that catch you off guard. This little gem sits in one of Łódź’s more authentic neighborhoods, away from the tourist crowds but still totally manageable to get around from.

The thing about Bałuty is that it’s where actual locals live and work – you’ll hear Polish conversations drifting from corner cafés instead of English-speaking tour groups, which honestly gives you a much better feel for the real Łódź. The rooms themselves are clean and thoughtfully put together (I mean, someone clearly cared about the details here), and I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it stays at night despite being in a residential area. Parking wasn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven through Polish city centers will appreciate. The staff actually seems to know the neighborhood well – they pointed me toward this fantastic pierogi spot just a few blocks down that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really sold me on this place was the combination of being genuinely local but not inconvenient. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the main action around Piotrkowska Street, but honestly, some evenings I preferred just wandering around Bałuty and discovering little bakeries and shops that tourists never see. The 9-point rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price – it’s not trying to be some flashy hotel with marble lobbies, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a well-run guesthouse where the owners actually care about your experience rather than just processing you through like a number.

  Clean room, privacy ,we had our own entrance from outside. Felt safe, car park was small but we had space. In our room we had 2 tellies which was handy as kids can watch something else. In the room there is small fridge which can be useful. There also is kettle to boil water but no teacups or tea bags.
  
  What could be improved: Not a big deal but would be nice to have tea cups and some bags of tea since the kettle is there . Room a little small.
