Art House Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Art House? Walking into this apartment-style place on Głowackiego street, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside – honestly, the Baluty district isn’t exactly tourist central in Łódź. But there’s something refreshingly authentic about staying in this working neighborhood where you actually get a feel for how locals live, rather than being stuck in some sterile hotel bubble near the main square.

The apartment itself (mine was the 01 unit) has this understated artistic vibe that totally lives up to the name without being pretentious about it. I mean, we’re talking about thoughtful touches like local artwork on the walls and quirky design elements that feel curated, not just thrown together. The space is way more generous than typical hotel rooms – you’ve got a proper kitchen setup if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Żabka and actually cook something, plus separate living and sleeping areas that make longer stays feel less cramped. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout, which matters when you’re trying to get work done or video call home. One thing that impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re in a residential area – the windows do a decent job blocking street noise, and honestly, this part of Łódź winds down pretty early anyway.

What really sells me on this place is the genuine local experience you get. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the city center and all the main attractions, but staying here means you’ll discover neighborhood gems you’d never find otherwise – there’s this fantastic pierogi spot just around the corner that locals frequent, and the morning walks through the area give you glimpses of authentic Polish daily life. The host clearly knows their stuff too; check-in was smooth, and they actually gave useful recommendations beyond the usual tourist traps. Sure, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect luxury amenities or round-the-clock service, but for what you’re paying, the quality and space are genuinely impressive. That 9.2 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense – it reflects what you actually get: a clean, thoughtfully designed space with character, in a location that offers real cultural immersion without sacrificing convenience. If you’re the type who prefers authentic neighborhood vibes over generic hotel experiences, and you don’t mind being slightly off the beaten path, Art House delivers exactly what it promises.

Reviews of Art House

  • A comfortable and hassle-free stay with almost everything we needed. – Anton from Poland – April 11, 2025 (8/10)

The check-in process was very smooth and easy. The apartment was clean and well-prepared for our stay. The beds were comfortable, and we had almost everything we needed — towels, shampoo, shower gel, tea, water, and basic utensils. The area is a bit away from the city center, but it’s easy to get there by car. There is free street parking right in front of the building, which was super convenient.

What could be improved: There was no hand soap at all, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, although we received the WiFi password in the check-in instructions, the network name wasn’t mentioned, and none of the available networks worked.

  • Nice stay in Łódź – Kiryll from Poland – November 12, 2024 (8/10)

Pretty nice location, around 10 minutes by tram from the city center. Easy and convenient check-in and check-out process. The room was nice, with comfortable beds and kitchenware.

What could be improved: Extremely poor sound isolation: one can hear what people say in rooms nearby. The shower drain was clogged (to the owner’s credit this was fixed in an hour).

  • Wonderful – Ola from Poland – November 10, 2024 (9/10)

    Clean and great standard.

What could be improved: It was cold and hand wash was missing.

  • Exceptional – Inga from Lithuania – October 12, 2024 (10/10)

    I was satisfied with fascilities

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Exceptional – Paulius from Germany – August 29, 2024 (10/10)

Place is near the center of the city. 15 min.walk abd u r in oldtown. Everytime u can to found free place for parking in the streets. Appartament is cozy, u have everything what u need in the kitchen. To sleep is very dark because of blinds on the window.

What could be improved: TV Channels r just from Poland. Through the window sometimes u can to hear noise from the street. Lights on microwaves – u must to hide o'clock on the microwave with towel or something like that.

  • Wonderful – Mateusz from Poland – August 23, 2024 (9/10)

Clean and comfortable. Cozy and consistent with the photos and descriptions.

What could be improved: Parking which is public: we were in the center of Łódź and came back around 22:00 and it was the last available parking spot. I believe it might be the problem sometimes to find any.

  • Great place – Rita from United Kingdom – August 18, 2024 (9/10)

Easy access, parking next to the house, code entrance, everything you need is provided. Comfy beds and sofa bed for kids. This is our second stay there within the last 2 years still all looks fresh and clean.

What could be improved: The surrounding area is slightly off putting, but nothing major.

  • We only stayed over night to split our joirney to Gdansk, for its purpose it matched our needs perfectly. – Ondrej from Slovakia – July 31, 2024 (9/10)

Very good location, clean room, it has easy approach from the car park, and parking is free an it was available. There is a city park, swimming pool and a little 23/7 grocery if you need something small.

What could be improved: The bed little too soft and we were missing a bowl for our morning yoghurt, but.

  • Exceptional – Mantas from Lithuania – June 20, 2024 (10/10)

Nice comfortable time. You can find nearby parking. Not private, but you will find where to leave.

What could be improved: Could not connect to Wifi.

  • Exceptional – Marta from United Kingdom – March 6, 2024 (10/10)

    Very quiet place

What could be improved: Very clean
