The Baluty neighborhood itself is honestly one of those areas that’s still got that authentic Polish residential feel – you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyards and smell pierogis cooking from neighboring apartments, especially around dinner time.

What really won me over was the attention to small details that only matter when you’re actually living somewhere for more than a night. The windows are properly insulated (Łódź winters are no joke), there’s enough closet space that you’re not living out of a suitcase, and – this might sound weird but hear me out – the lighting is actually pleasant.   The location of the apartment was perfect for me and my family. The cleanliness of the apartment was also amazing and a bonus of washing powder was a nice surprise to wash the clothes. Getting into the main building was easy with a code and also the apartment which the host had messaged me about before my arrival.
