So I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to ApartHouse Piotrkowska, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. It’s tucked right into Łódź’s famous Piotrkowska Street (you know, the crazy long pedestrian strip that everyone talks about), and from the outside it sort of blends into the mix of restored townhouses and cafes that line this part of Śródmieście. But once you’re inside, it actually feels more spacious than you’d think from the street view.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to capture that apartment-style living without making it feel like you’re crashing at someone’s random flat. The rooms have this lived-in comfort – proper kitchenettes where you can actually cook something decent, not just heat up instant noodles. I mean, after a few days of pierogi (which, don’t get me wrong, I love), sometimes you just want to make your own coffee the way you like it. The whole setup works especially well if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights, which honestly makes sense given how much there is to explore in this part of the city. You’re literally a two-minute walk from some of the best bars and restaurants on Piotrkowska, but when you want to retreat, the place feels surprisingly quiet – I guess the building’s old walls do their job.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to the Manufaktura shopping center, they didn’t just point vaguely down the street like some places do. They told me exactly which tram to catch and mentioned that the walk through Planty Park is actually prettier if you have the time (and they were right). Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area – it’s mostly street parking and it fills up fast, especially on weekends when everyone’s out on Piotrkowska. But they helped sort that out too. The whole experience felt less like staying at a hotel and more like having a local friend let you crash at their place, except everything actually works and the sheets are properly clean. That 8.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but for what it is, they’ve really nailed it. Perfect if you want to be right in the heart of things without paying city center prices.
