Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Apartamenty Zacisze on that quiet street in Śródmieście, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a 3-star apartment hotel. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries happen when you’re not overthinking things. The building itself is pretty unassuming (which I actually prefer – no tourist trap vibes here), and finding apartment 10/23 was straightforward enough, though I did have to buzz the intercom since there’s no traditional front desk situation going on.

What really struck me about this place is how it feels like you’re staying in an actual neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district. Zacisze street is genuinely peaceful – I mean, the name literally translates to “quiet place” so they’re not lying about that. You’re still in the heart of Łódź’s center, but it’s tucked away from the main tourist corridors around Piotrkowska Street. I could walk to all the main sights easily enough, but when I came back in the evenings, it felt like retreating to a proper residential area where locals actually live. The apartment setup works really well if you’re staying more than just a night or two – I had a proper kitchenette where I could make coffee in the morning (thank god, because Polish hotel coffee can be… well, let’s just say having your own setup helps).

The space itself exceeded what I expected for the price point. Sure, it’s not luxury, but everything felt clean and functional in that efficient European way. The windows actually open properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue), and I got decent natural light during the day. Honestly, the 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s one of those places that just works without any major surprises, good or bad. Parking was easier than I anticipated for this part of Łódź, though I’d still recommend checking with them first if you’re driving. The check-in process took a bit longer than a regular hotel since they had to walk me through the apartment features, but the person helping me actually knew the area well and gave me some solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. If you’re the type who likes having your own space and doesn’t need someone at a front desk 24/7, this kind of setup in Śródmieście gives you a much better feel for what living in Łódź is actually like.

  Nice apartment. Comfortable bed, good shower and toilet. Very good location, train station and bars in the city center are within walking distance. Responsive owners, managed to arrange for earlier check in/later check out.

  It was exactly like on the pictures and wasn’t in reality a lot smaller or anything like it generally tends to be. Comfortable check-in with a key in a key-box and instructions how to get to the apartment sent beforehand.

  It’s clean, comfy and not far from the city center.
  
  What could be improved: Lacks some crucial products in the kitchen like cooking oil (which you probably won’t bring with you). And the fire alarm system in the hallway was beeping in the night, but we managed to fall asleep anyways.

  The apartment feels cosy and it is nicely furnished with modern equipment. It is pleasant to stay in it. Located on a nice street, close to the center. The hosts were easy to communicate with and helpful. Great there was good internet and a washing machine – big plus! There was a cute little booklet explaining everything and recommending places in the area.
  
  What could be improved: The pull-out sofa isn't very comfortable to sleep on. The pan in the kitchen was destroyed and needs replacing, there was no oven and I miss tea towels in the kitchen so ended up using one of the towels instead. We had only one bin bag for 6 days.
